Who is the voice of the announcer?

    Posted: 22 Aug 2019 11:31 PM PDT

    Fifteen seconds remaining.

Probably she is credited as another character (see imdb page: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10668766/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast) but not credited as the announcer per se. Best guesses?

Why Artifact should not become F2P

    Posted: 22 Aug 2019 10:39 PM PDT

I am making this post regarding a lot of Artifact F2P posts/comments on this sub.

Artifact should not go F2P and here's why:

You have to look at a videogame as a product, the company wants to make money otherwise why would it make the product. This is the case with every videogame out there, including "F2P" games.

So let's assume Artifact goes the F2P route, there are only 2 reasonable options to earn enough money to make a profit if they go F2P which are the following:

    • Rely purely on cosmetics (this is impossible because Artifact doesn't have the numbers to get enough money from cosmetics, there are very very few games who are able to do this, one of which is Dota2).

    • Rely on "whales", this means they rely on a small part of the playerbase to spend hundreds upon thousands of dollars in order to support the non paying players and the game itself. The only way this works is by making the game extremely grindy and/or Pay to Win. Because the whales need a reason to spend a ton of money, obviously I don't need to explain that this is bad for the game, horrible for the casual player.

There is however potentially another option, keep the buyin price (they can even increase it), remove the packs/cards you can buy. Ask money for expansions (just like DLC) and add cosmetics to the game. I believe most reasonable people agree that this would be a great solution however I don't know if that would make enough money for Valve to be considered a viable option.

Edit: In my other option you would unlock all the cards after purchasing the game/DLC and would only have to pay extra if you wanted cosmetics.
