Meepo also likes cookies, so Snapfire is cool too. Just not Arc Warden ok

What do you think about the 5 unit limit per lane?

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 10:01 PM PDT

Basically title. Out of all the changes shown so far, it is the only change I still go back and forth on. I don't know whether it is because of the limit itself or the specific number of 5, which seems really low.

Like, what if it was 7 per lane instead of 5? Or 9? At that point, I think I'd be alright. But after that point, you have to wonder what the point of a limit at all is.

    I'm conflicted.

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but the math says Artifact 2.0 will be released April 10, 2021

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 12:15 AM PDT

So far, 22 new and reworked cards have been revealed in a timespan of 4 weeks. Assuming a constant pace of 5.5 cards/week, and that the new set will contain as many cards as the first set (295), all cards will be revealed in (295 - 22)/5.5 = 49.6 weeks.

This inevitably means that Artifact 2.0 will be released in less than a year. Yay!

    Stay strong, haulers.

    The Heroes We Want!

A bit of speculation on basic heroes and rarity

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 05:01 AM PDT

From the info we have so far basic heroes is still a thing. At least they still call them that. So should we expect they still serve the drafting purpose they used to? -While seemingly being good enough to be playable in constructed as well.

In the old version the basic heroes concept was implemented with mixed success. It worked well enough to make draft a good playing experience. But some non-basic heroes were arguably worse than their basic counterparts thus making them pretty unplayable. If they stick to something like the old concept, then the basic heroes should be, for the most part, worse than other heroes of their color, which doesn't seem to be the case.

This makes me think the basic heroes will not serve the same purpose they used to. But why still call them basic then? Maybe it's just because we know them as such?

About rarity, the basic heroes still have the white basic rarity symbol, while all the other cards we have seen have the common bronze one - except for Timbersaw who kept his silver uncommon. I thought the rarity symbol was a placeholder for now since all the new cards had the common one, even the 25 gold Sheep Stick. For comparison there is only 1 non-rare item costing 15 or more in old Artifact, the uncommon Helm of the Dominator.

What do you think about basic heroes seemingly still being a thing and rarity in general?
