    B/G movement deck

    Posted: 30 Sep 2020 12:44 PM PDT

    hello long haulers,
I played some draft games in early beta and left fast but now I'm back for constructed. I'm building a B/G deck with lots of movement. I started by a lot of losses. I have watch some streams but I needed to learn how to play, what to expect, adjust my mana curve… All my heroes were bad for safe lane/off lane (heroes who can move are more 4th or 5th heroes) so I swapped Winter Wyvern for Death Prophet. Now I'm starting to win most of the time but I'm still changing cards and testing stuff.
My deck : Death Prophet, Nyx, Mirana, Sand King and Underlord.
    3 star align
    3 Escape Route
    3 Spiked Carapace
    3 Sacred Arrow
    3 Sandstorm
    3 Atrophy Aura
    3 Smeevil Blacksmith
    3 Hip Fire
    3 Homefield Advantage
1 Cheating Death (for testing purpose, is that good ?)
3 Ironwood Heart (I like it on T2, my hero becomes pretty beefy)
    2 Ravenhook
    1 Corrosive Mist
    3 Emissary
    3 Exorcism
maul, phase boot, 2 strengh potion, 2 Hooked Net, 2 Infernal Amulet (I don't buy it anymore), blink dagger, jasper dagger
More green cards while only 2 geen heroes but they are harder to kill so I'm fine.
The strategy is to defend with things like homefield advantage/black removal then boost some heroes with Emissary. They will be able to move to take another lane (their ability + escape route + blink dagger).
So my questions : which cards are must-have ? is there an OP hero I should use ? Ravenhook or corrosive myst ? Which items ? Any advice or thougth ?

Radical idea: "Jungle" positions between lanes

    Posted: 30 Sep 2020 02:55 PM PDT

DISCLAIMER: this idea significantly changes the game-play. This is the time to test radical changes like this.

    Main ideas:

    • Instead of having lane positions be 5-5-5, we have 5-1-5-1-5 where the "1" positions are equivalent to the "jungle" in dota.
    • For 1 mana: any hero in a lane can move to an adjacent jungle position
    • For 1 mana: any hero in a jungle slot can move to any position in an adjacent lane
    • Remove scrolls when destroying a tower. Not needed anymore.
    • Effects cast in the middle lane can target both jungles (+the lane itself obviously).
Effects cast in lateral lanes can only target their adjacent jungle (+the lane itself).
    • Heroes casting in the jungle can target any adjacent lane.
    • During combat phase, units in the jungle do NOT deal tower damage.
If there is an enemy unit in the same jungle, they will battle each other during combat phase.

    Pros:

    • Remove the "win more" effect of scrolls. Also, they make no sense.
    • Makes multi-color more viable: by adding 1/2 mana you can play a card in an adjacent lane.
    • Reduces the frustration of being stuck in a lane with nothing to do.
Your opponent would have 2/4 actions while you move and you would commit 2/4 mana, so it's still a high risk option.
    • Allows changing a heroes position in a lane for 2 mana and 2 actions.
    • More similar to dota.

    Follow up ideas:

    • Change lanes to 4-1-4-1-4 to avoid visual clutter.
    • Spawn random jungle creeps every turn? Chen might also control them!
    • Spawn runes? Gold rune for example, you earn +5 gold when "killing it". Moving a hero to the jungle slot would give you +5 gold. Fighting the opponent's rune in jungle would give you +5 gold.
    • The mana cost of moving heroes from lane to jungle and vice-versa can be hero dependent. Tide could move for 3 mana. CM could move for 5 mana.
    • Maybe limit the number of movements per turn to avoid moving around and chasing heroes too much.
