Hi guys new player. I've decided I'm in for the long haul Posted: 20 Sep 2019 04:47 AM PDT Love the game. Fun to play. I think if valve gave this game for free as it is and just shipped it out as a game that comes with steam download. Alit of people would catch the bug and start to play again now that hating it isn't trendy [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Sep 2019 12:12 PM PDT Hello everyone, I'm doing my PhD in marketing and I'm focusing on esports sponsorships. Until the end of 2019, I will be doing 4 different surveys on this topic. Each survey will be launched only once and on different months to avoid fatiguing the community. The only exception is the 2nd survey which will be launched a second time, one month after all 4 surveys have been launched, because I need a larger sample for the 2nd survey. All surveys are anonymous and done on Google Forms. The data from the surveys will only be used for my PhD thesis and to develop 6 articles that will be published in scientific journals. The participation of all esports fans is extremely important and greatly appreciated (surveys are only for people who watch/participate in esports). This is the 4th survey. It takes about 8 minutes to complete and is related to how esports improve the sponsors' image. Here is the survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfyH0RV3AUDqtTb1L9ZJiHZRxBiMFelgh7aVXnBgRsaCBIlWA/viewform?usp=sf_link Thank you so much in advance. I understand that this subreddit is not strictly related to esports but, since it has a gamer user-base, there may be some who watch/participate in esports. If you are interested in easily following my next surveys (and their results), you can follow me here on Reddit or on Twitter: @EsportsAnalyses This survey has been approved by the kind moderators. [Artifact 2.0] "Actionfact" concept - Real-time strategy, "auto-dota" Posted: 20 Sep 2019 03:00 AM PDT A real-time Artifact 2.0 game blending ideas of its predecessor and RTS card games like "Minion Masters". There has not been done a serious, well made, deep game of this popular game type, therefore this has big potential for success. Basic concept art (keep in mind, the sizes and perspective are not correct). Still starting with 3 heroes randomly deployed in three lanes, and 2 melee and 1 ranged creep spawning in every lane, how it's shown in the picture. Can still only play cards in a lane with a hero of that color in that lane. Play cards in any lane, when you want, real-time (cards turn into 3d units/spell effects/etc when played). Green areas is jungle/trees (with potential for many things). "Max" 5 main card slots that automatically refill after you play a card. Can quickly skip and replace any card in hand for 0-3 mana (mostly 1 mana). Mana bar continuously fills up, but you can only play cards of max mana at current time. As you can see on the picture, game just started, and you can only play cards with max 3 mana cost. Max playable mana will however increase by 1 every 15 seconds, meaning you can already play 10 mana cards after 105 seconds. As seen in picture you can draw a path any way you want, to give a hero a move action along this path. Seeing attack range and what they might stop and attack on the way. Most hero move actions will cost 1 mana, but can cost 0-3, etc. This is how many actions in this game will be handled. You can only give move actions to heroes (unless specified otherwise). Kill creeps and heroes, get gold, buy items in real-time and equip them (have not thought about how shop will be). Heroes of course respawn if killed. Everything based around time, and you can imagine many different things effecting hero respawn timer, etc. You can of course choose to deploy a creep or hero anywhere on your half, before the river (unless specified otherwise). This gives a lot of freedom. E.g. "Deploy a creep more behind so you can combo it with another creep that is deployed just as the other creep reaches river to receive a buff." Pretty much any mechanic you can imagine with jungle, bridges, cross-lane cards, items and improvements, target/aeo spells, mana bar interactions, gold can be possible, it's a game with many freedoms. More specifics:
A 2 lane (4), a bit less complex mode, that would as well be better fit for mobile is not out of the question (still being able to use all cards). In the end, this is not too different from a turn based game, just with more action. You won't be needing a lot of APM skills to play it, since mana bar takes time to refill, and you often have advantage of waiting to see what opponent will do before playing (can bind hotkeys for main 5 cards, shop, hero deployments, etc). Many advantages to current game:
Of course released with a similar to dota f2p model, having full lvl 1 card collection. Open cosmetic card packs to upgrade your card art/card borders/ingame models/effects/etc (e.g. find 2 more of a card to upgrade to lvl 2, find then 3 more to upgrade to lvl 3, etc to level ~10). It's a lot to explain, it's easier to just use your imagination in unclear places, because pretty much anything you can think of can be possible. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments]
