Artifact - I am excited about this game

I am excited about this game Posted: 20 Oct 2020 01:05 PM PDT I managed to get into the dota 2 beta very early on, and I remember its process of going from beta to full release. If that is anything to go by, I believe there is a lot to look forward to with regards to Artifact Beta keys! It was really great in the dota 2 beta days where players who had access to the beta occasionally received beta keys they could give to their friends. I really want to play Artifact with my brother and can't wait till we get to the stage where we receive beta keys that we can give to people New hero releases/teases! The dota 2 beta began with only part of the hero pool from dota 1, and slowly ported heroes over weekly or bi-weekly (I don't remember exactly). Every hero release came with its own blog post and typically contained a teaser for the next hero that was going to arrive. Artifact may not commit to every hero being ported over, but the idea of new releases/expansions is still super exciting Updates to animations and art! There are so many abilities in the game right now that really resemble their dota 2 counterparts like Ravage/Chain Frost/Echo Slam. I find that really immersive - its going to be great when every ability looks and sounds like it does in dota (I'm particularly looking forward to Lina's cards getting animations). Similar to the previous point, but cosmetics! Think getting arcana level skins for cards and getting different effects on signature/active abilities (imagine if they do it for Rubick the way they have it in dota - every spell stolen by spell steal gets a green tint that'll be amazing) I know there are many doomsayers here who will berate me for being 'naive' and they'll insist the game is dead and will never get to the point I'm envisioning - but I'm excited for this game. I think it is in a good spot right now both strategy and fun wise (in my mind its like a mix of chess and magic the gathering with a dota theme/feel). I know it will be a long time before we get to a complete game with the above points, but I'm still playing it almost everyday and looking forward to the updates. submitted by /u/galactical_lmao [link] [comments]
