Who are the devs behind Artifact 2.0?

Does anyone know who are the devs that are working on A2? (i.e. the names of the specific individuals).

More importantly, does anyone know if the background of these people is primarily in coding, or in CCG/TCG design?

Whoever they are, it seems to me that they have taken Richard Garfield's design and made it worse overall in A2. Artifact 1.0 was, despite some notable flaws, EPIC and unique. I blame the abolishment of the 3-separate-lanes concept in A2. The flying from lane-to-lane in A1 was a very enjoyable experience, and created a vibe and player experience which is unmatched by any other CCG/TCG.

These are the wise words of an insightful player (by the name オーバーマスターP) who posted on the Steam forums today:

"The original game designed by Richard Garfield had a clear vision of what it wanted to be and the entire game was built around serving that purpose, creating interplay between all the various elements (cross-lane spells, TP scrolls in the shop, arrows, unlimited board and hand space, etc.) but most importantly creating an obvious flow and rhythm to the game, as you would expect a radically new card game to deliver on.

Deciding to change some elements, but not all of them, have left many pieces that were originally designed in concert, to become misaligned with the game. Creeps no longer feel impactful. Trying to attack the Ancient vs 2 towers. Cleave, armor, and more.

I get that Valve has decided to misattribute Artifact 1's failure to "it wasn't streamer friendly enough", but if that was the judgement they wanted to peddle, they needed to redesign the game from the ground up. Fiddling with elements of a complicated yet extremely solid engine has left the game an utter disaster, more simplistic to watch and control but at the cost of making so many of the game's systems confusingly arbitrary. What a mess."
