Artifact 2.0: Campaign Mode Feedback Posted: 28 Feb 2021 06:14 PM PST The Campaign Mode in Artifact 2.0 is very dry and boring imo, but there is potential for Artifact's Campaign Mode to be impressive and immersive. They have fantastic lore and existing assets to call upon. I recommend they implement a comic book style, in each chapter showing the progression of the Bronze Legion/Sorla Khan invasion and Vhoul rebellion, as well as the events in the Court of Ristul and the Tyler Estate. There is a lot of material that they could re-use from the existing comic. They could also re-use some of the voice acting on existing cards, for example many of the Vhoul cards are very flavourful and emotive, or the voice acting from the black card "Bitter Enemies" for example. The comic should also introduce Marcus and Lukol-Po better, giving them character and flavour. Also, the story of Rix has so much potential to shine in a campaign. Also, imagine Prellex and Kanna in the Campaign! It was only when I completed the Mythgard Campaign did I ask myself: "Why is Mythgard's campaign so amazing / immersive / enjoyable, whereas Artifact's one is very boring?. Is it because Artifact is in BETA but it will be amazing on release?" I recommend the devs play the Mythgard campaign to see what a great campaign can look like, or access the YouTube videos of Hex: Shards of Fate Campaign which was also impressive. What is your opinion? Do you have any ideas on how Valve can make an impressive Campaign Mode? (To clarify, I still think that Artifact 2.0 is a pointless project because of the direction taken, and so obviously doomed for failure, and that any reasonable person should have no doubts about that, however that does not mean that the game should not have its shining moments and go down in style. Especially since when Valve stops supporting the game and PvP queues fail to fire after a year or so after release, at least there will be a damn fine tutorial for players to enjoy in single player mode. That's also why I don't like posts trying to rush Valve. It's clear that the Campaign was rushed. Let them take their time to produce some very high quality work). [link] [comments]
I'M THE BEST ARTIFACT PLAYER...PROBABLY Posted: 28 Feb 2021 05:15 PM PST Yup, all blue deck, I'm still a legend... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk9OhGZ8AiE Thanks for checking it out. Getting better at the game, just need more updates and players. Will settle for an update from the devs though at this point. [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Feb 2021 10:38 PM PST The Mythgard devs have recently released codes, which give access to the complete Core Set for free (including all Mythic rares), which are redeemable for another two weeks. This has upset some players in the Mythgard community, who are pissed off that the devs are showering new players with a cornucopia of generous gifts, whereas those same veteran players were forced to either spend a long time grinding for those cards, or paying for packs. After playing Mythgard, my initial impression is that it is MUCH better than Artifact 2.0. A lot more fun and engaging. The tutorial is excellent and immersive, and the gameplay has just enough strategic decision making to make me interested. It's amazing to me what indie devs can achieve, and I can only wonder what those devs could have achieved if they had the budget, resources and market power that Valve has. This has given me a sinking feeling. With all the cash, resources and fame, Valve does not seem to be able to compete with the indies. I'm starting to come to terms with the fact that there is little to no hope for Artifact 2.0. I have also started to give up my hope that Valve will permit community mods/workshop for Artifact 1. They will instead leave it to burn on the pyre. RemindMe! 3 years. I predict that after 3 years, Artifact 2.0 will be released but abandoned, and Mythgard (and/or Legends of Runeterra and/or Eternal) will be alive and still receiving dev support. [link] [comments] |
