    Today Gaben hacked my computer

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 04:54 PM PDT

It was end of the day, it was time to sleep

after playing a game of Dota 2 as Techies with Divine Rapier, a winning match, I said goodbye to my friend and went to bed

    . . .

after few moments I noticed that my computer wasn't turned off

I went back to my desk and I had a screen saying

    We couldn't complete the updates

    Undoing changes

    Don't turn off your computer

I forgot about the windows update as usually I would just turn off my PC and go to bed and the update would finish then the PC be off

    whatever

I waited then tried to shutdown the PC

    same thing happened again!

It was getting on my nerves!

I tried to shutdown three times but same thing happened over and over

then I decided that I should fix the issue

I google search and the first thing says that I might have a virus!

but I know that it is not a virus as I'm always careful with clicking on links and the websites I use

I also have advanced anti virus that would kill any virus in sight!

I had to open Command Prompt as admin and write something then wait for it to check the PC

while waiting I was turning off some auto start up

    I wasn't in a good mood

this thing delayed my sleep time by few hours and I don't like when something cut my sleeping time...

anyway, while I'm disabling the apps I saw steam

it comes to my mind that it might be from steam but before I turn it off I wanted to check if I had any message

    Sadly, no new messages

    but something was strange

    RECENT GAME

    ARTIFACT

WAIT WHAT? HOW? I DIDN'T OPEN ARTIFACT TODAY HOW DI-

    New added to library

    WHAT? THIS GAME ISN'T NEW!

WHO WAS MESSING WITH MY COMPUTER! WHAT IS GOING ON!??

I look again at the picture of Artifact

    Artifact

    Beta 2.0

    I'M IN THE BETA!

    MY LONG HAUL IS OVER!

    I'M FREE!

    .

    .

    .

    .

Gaben hacked my computer to keep me awake

to have a good game of Artifact Beta 2.0

    Thank you /u/GabeNewellBellevue

so, can you please remove the virus please? I want to turn off my PC please

anyone else forget its their turn in the draft phase all the time?

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 06:33 AM PDT

I dont know why but when drafting cards for ranked I keep forgetting/not realizing its my turn lol. I'm not sure why i keep doing this but I do. So valve if you could add like a glowy boarder or something to let me know that would be tops.

My thoughts about artifact 2.0. MTG:A is just more fun as a casual

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 09:36 PM PDT

My CCG experience is pretty much Hearthstone and Artifact 1.0. I loved hearthstone untill it got to much of a money commitment.

I got into the beta, and I played about 4-5 hours straight way doing all the challenges and really enjoyed my time. After that the draft mode just became really boring. Maybe I'm just really bad, but I felt like the game was so complex that once I dropped my heros in the first three lanes nothing really mattered. I never felt like I made a mistake (i probably did tho) when I lost , but it was predetermined from the beginning. Nothing felt like it had weight or any reason to it. Who snowballed first was all that mattered making it kind of boring.

After playing those 7 hours or I decided to check out Magic the gathering Arena. I've never played magic before. I've put about 10-12 hours into that now and the cards have huge impact and I've had come backs that felt deserved, stomps deserved and undeserved, and complex games where I had no idea what was going on but having fun.

I think the time per mach also had a huge impact on how I enjoyed the game.

Just random thought from a casual card game player.

Try Viper & Troll Warlord in Artifact 2.0

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 02:21 AM PDT

Someone may already find there are some unused cards in card_set_01_english text file: https://www.reddit.com/r/Artifact/comments/hwkyoz/unused_beta_heroes_cards_datamine/

Here I'd like to show you how to use Viper & Troll Warlord in construct mode with your friends.

    Deck Code: RTFACTJW0ZpLkCwQRH6QEFKh64uwKOtwEsBI2Bh7UTg1ZpcGVyICZhbXA7IFRyb2xsIFdhcmxvcmQ_

    1. Just copy the deck code above, load, edit as you like, and save the deck.
    2. Then you can use the deck in construct with friends.

Here is what they look like.

Troll Warlord dont have image but you can still use it.

P.S. These decks containing unused cards cant be used in vsBot mode.

You better play with your friends rather than strangers. These cards may be too OP and scare them.

I dont know if this is allowed by artifact devs. But its too boring that there are no new contents for a long time.So why not try something new and do some tests for them.

What do you think about Viper and Troll Warlord? Are they strong enough to build a deck?

    Suggestion To Improve Artifact 2.

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 11:57 PM PDT

So, I have been reading a few books on how a successful game works. Mostly about MMORPG so I thought, maybe it can help the game I love to gather player.

What makes a game successful? It need to have 4 criteria:

    1. Easy fun - very easy to play.

    2. Hard fun- The complexity fun (artifact 1 has a lot of it)

    3. Experimental fun- The fun of doing things in different ways

    4. Social fun- ?

I did some thinking and thought, Artifact 2 has 1,2,3 but where is the social fun? In artifact 1, valve tried to implement social fun in form of lobby matchmaking but I think it flopped.

So, I have a crazy idea. What if we make a feature that actually fun?

    New feature : POKE

    Cost :

Minus 3 health to your lowest health tower, prioritize ancient to tower

-Players can use poke to run out their turn in the game of course at cost 3 tower health

The cost can be incremental to avoid abuse- 3/4/5/6 health tower if used in 1 turn.

First use in the round 1 will cost 3/ Second use in round 1 will cost 4

However the cost refreshes in the second round, starting from 3 health to tower again.

This could open up a lot of strategies and in depth to the game by using tower health as resources. Maybe Valve has idea on how to balance this.

There are four types of effects player can choose to poke from : (could be added more)

    1. Crazy imp -Will spawn crazy imp for a duration (maybe distractive)

    2. Paint -Split paint to enemy board (with custom words)/colours

    3. Fireworks- Spawn fireworks on the board

    4. Balloons- Spawn balloons on the board

Just a thought. Let me know what you think
