Is there any chance there would be a major gameplay update? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 06:26 AM PDT I just got the beta yesterday and I do like most of the changes but the core gameplay. I'm not a fan of the turn limited by mana, Artifact 1 is better in this regard. Now in Artifact 2, the turn is limited by mana, and it's shared with all lanes, it feels like playing on one big lane, rather than playing on three separated lanes. And five units per lane is really limiting, I know it's limited because we can put our cards in any slots, so a lot of slots would limit the battle between cards, but there is another way to resolve this, for example, we can choose to put a card in one of the five slots (like now), but if the 5th slot is occupied, we can put another card in the next slot (6th, like Artifact 1), and if the card in the 5th is gone, all cards on 5th+ slots shifted until the 5th slot occupied. This way they don't have to sacrifice creeps durability (Currently creeps die on the first turn, they did this so the slots are not going to full quickly, so we can put our cards in it. Replace is not an optimal solution). So, is there any chance there would be a major gameplay update? I'm afraid they are only going to update heroes, items, cosmetics, and minor things from now. I feel the duration of one game is faster than Artifact 1, which is good for some people. But it's lack of depth, kinda bland, just like play until we run out of mana, and that's it. Maybe it's just me though. It seems they intend to reduce the duration of gameplay by lowering the complexity. But I like another approach, keep the complexity but reduce the lanes to two lanes. This way they can offer the full game (3 lanes) and fast game (2 lanes). Hope Artifact 2 for the best :) [link] [comments] |
