But at the end of the day you cannot buy singles in any other TCG on the market that I am aware of and this is what made Artifact so appealing to me. Playing magic back in the day competitively costs big money. Hearthstone is arguably worse with how much grinding you need to do. Been playing magic arena lately and it's just as bad. Wildcards, dust, it's all the fucking same.. I really hope Valve fixes their shit and allows me to continue to buy singles so I can immediately create the deck that I want without having to grind through packs. It's so exhausting and I find myself getting burned out very quickly because of the gambling mechanic in most TCGs. At least the ones that are even moderately appealing to me personally. Of course you have Dominion and Ascension but I don't include them because they aren't the same genre. LET.ME.BUY. SINGLES Also. Free draft mode and custom tournaments?? I feel like the majority of the community slept on this shit. It was amazing. Like AMAZING. I think the audience was a little bit lacking in the experience area and it really through he reception off more so than it maybe would have otherwise. Sure paying for ranked draft and shit was balls I agree. It shouldn't have happened. Lots of questionable things contributed to the sweet sleep of the game that could be. But that doesn't change the fact that there were some genre breaking positives as well. I hope it's revived in a godly state because this game will most likely become my main Card game when that happens. Anyways. Just checking in lads. [link] [comments]  | ||

| The Artifact relaunch already exists, its called Dota Underlords Posted: 18 Jun 2019 05:03 PM PDT In February, Valve started seriously thinking about and considering making a standalone Auto Chess game. About a month later, the "towards a better Artifact" blogpost was posted. People on the Artifact team then realized something, "wait a second, this Auto Chess game has things in common with card games! Sure, the combat is nothing like a card game, but everything else resembles deckbuilding, opening packs and so on! Plus its a game thats basically already designed for the most part and its already proven to be popular!" Alot of members of the Artifact team then moved their desks to the Underlords team. The name "Artifact" has such a bad reputation now, that having whatever new thing/update they make using said name would be a bad idea, and thus "Dota Underlords", plus now they can leave all of the negative Steam reviews for Artifact behind.
