Top 10 reasons to play Artifact

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 10:36 AM PDT

So I was listening to a JRE podcast with a quantum mechanics physicist.

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 06:36 AM PDT

He was talking about how there are only around 100 people worldwide that are working on the fundamentals and theory of quantum mechanics. I thought to myself, "Wow! If I went to grad school in physics, got my PHD and then started working in this field, I could be an entire 1% of a worldwide community." But then I realized I could do the same thing just by playing Artifact.

    1 month to release anniversary

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 06:33 AM PDT

Will we have news at the anniversary?

Are we entitled enough to ask for an update regarding the current situation of the game?

Are we only an annoying customer who should get the fuck out of the store and shut up?

Do any of you actually care? I certainly do.

Steam is down, it is not just Artifact!

Fellow players, do not worry if you cannot find a game of Artifact: Steam is actually down due to the Halloween sales.

    How's it going over here?

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 08:41 AM PDT

Hearthstone is being boycotted, MTG's two formats are Elk and Mill, and this is the only other card game I've enjoyed.

How's it going in this community? I've been missing this game recently, and I'm thinking of downloading again. Are there reasonable queues for Phantom Draft still? Has the meta changed much? Is it much worse than when it was essentially declared dead when it went under 100 concurrent players?

update: I played a couple games of draft today. Queue time was pretty bad but it was a lot of fun. Thanks for the encouragement!

A look over the past year

A look over the past year

Once the long haul ends, we will feel better. Meanwhile, let us have a look over what happened during the past year:

    • the Call to Arms update,
    • the Build your Legends update,
    • the start of the long haul Towards a Better Artifact,
    • the mess at Twitch with "miscategorized streams" (to put it lightly).

    Player count over time

How to get better at Artifact

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 06:24 AM PDT

    Hey Long-haulers,

I went back to Artifact and after playing a few drafts, it remembered me that I am pretty bad at the game.

The good news is that I want to improve ! I have a hard time in Phantom drafts (with a lot of 1-2, 2-2 records) and I am seeking resources to get better at Artifact.

Do you know articles i should read about the game if I want to be the best player when the long-haul ends go further than my lvl 20 ?

    Thanks in advance.

HS also rumored to be moving away from card packs. Hopefully an Artifact re-release does the same.

"Steam is now asking players if they want to revise reviews they’ve written."

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 07:10 AM PDT

Steam beta is now asking players if they would like to revise their Steam reviews. As seen here for Destiny 2.

Do you guys think this was implemented before the release of Artifact 2.0 for a reason? In hopes that us users who left a negative review will go back and revise our Artifact review?

Maybe it's the Long Haul that is running thru my veins, and I've become overly optimistic, but it feels like this is a good step in the right direction for the re-release of Artifact.

Or maybe this is just a feature Steam has had in mind for a very long time and it's just now hitting beta.

    Any thoughts?

Would it be possible for one player to own ALL the cards in artifact.

If everyone transferred their cards to one person do you think it would work.

An outside perspective about what this game should be

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 04:29 AM PDT

Hello guys, I love card games but I don't feel the same appeal to Mobas, so I would like to give my few cents on why this game is NOT popular.

First of all, hands down, I think the game visual is insanely good and the best out there.

Now, the concept and mechanics is what make this game very unpopular. I guess anyone already understood that, but Valve probably don't know yet how to make it more appealing.

I feel like a card game should be more simple and "stress free". You should be able to play a game of 15~20 minutes without having to think as much as Artifact demands of you. Don't get me wrong, I like complex games, but game should be fun to play first and then have their complexity. The problem with Artifact is that it's often frustrating to play.

In my opinion, you don't need 3 boards, you don't need to copy this thing from mobas because it makes the game much more complex, demanding and exhausting. I think they should approach the classic model and change the mechanics.

There's a reason why people liked Underlords so much and I believe nowadays people don't have the time or will to pay much attention and energy to play a card game....

Well, just some Monday thoughts I would like to share with you. I really like the game, but I don't find it any more fun than the other card games. Cheers.
