    May I have a copy?

Been watching as much artifact I can on twitch (Mainly CrushMunch), and I really want to join the game, can't afford it tho, but heard here that draft is the best way to play it. I understand that this post will be met with a lot of negativity, it's fine, just thought it was worth a try. Sorry to bother everyone.

It’s Artifact, but good and came out two years prior

I apologize if this has been discussed before but I didn't see it. Also this is entirely based on just my own play session.

So I've been on this sub since well before launch, I've played both magic and Dota since about 2013. I was super psyched for Artifact and then...yada yada. ANYWAYS, last night my friend and I decided to try Star Wars Destiny and in a number of mechanical ways it's similar to Artifact but in every similarity it's done better.

    1) No full individual turns but single actions one player then the other. However SW: Destiny is designed better to take advantage of this and games feel much more interactive.

    2) The colors of your team matter. However SW:Destiny mainly only cares about it during deckbuilding, and while once in awhile a card cares whether that color character is alive, you can discard those cards at the end of the round to draw more so you never have dead cards in your hand.

    3) Character improvements matter and you really feel like you've made your team better rather than created a card advantage liability. However SW:Destiny interacts with your teams characters a lot more and when they die they're removed from the game so it feels much more triumphant when they're finally dealt with.

    4) Finally, Artifact has a terrible metaphor for the player and it's flavor is almost nonexistent. However SW:Destiny is dripping in flavor and it's super fun to talk about what's happening in the game at any moment because it translates to a story super well.

Just wanted to let you guys know there's a game out there that appeals to what this game promised but actually delivers.

How long before I get entire collection

    Posted: 04 May 2019 06:57 AM PDT

Hey all, recently asked if I should start artefact and got a somewhat balanced response with yays and nays (slightly more), was just wondering if I do pay 20 for the base game and not spend a dollar more, how fast would I be able to get a full collection?

    The New Beta!

    Posted: 04 May 2019 08:45 AM PDT

    Hi all,

Assuming Valve do actually re-launch the game, how do you think they should handle a BETA? Should they have one at all, and if so what should it look like?

If I were the one in charge, the BETA would be available to a very limited group of people (a closed BETA), and those chosen would need to be talented PLAYERS or former players of the game, who are required to keep strict confidentiality during the BETA. People like Real Man and Lumi and Maggo and Petrify and so on. No streamers using it as a marketing tool, just people who are playtesting the game to make sure that draft and constructed are balanced (and bug-free). Then once Valve feel confident that the game is in a balanced and healthy state, re-launch the game with huge hype.

I don't think it's a good idea to have an open BETA because it could easily destroy the hype of the re-launch, and it will probably be quite flawed in terms of balance, which could attract massive criticism (which is the last thing this game needs more of).

Related to this, I think Valve should on the day of launch state that the $1 million tournament is being re-vamped as 4 separate $250,000 tournaments, the first being held 3 months after launch, and the remaining ones being held 3 months after each expansion (i.e. for the first 3 expansions). Qualifying for each tournament would not be a grind on a ladder, but lots of mini qualifying tournaments. Valve could do this by reaching out to third parties who are willing to host qualifying tournaments, and they can host some themselves.

What would your recommendation be to Valve?
