Leveling Up discussion that rambles on into my dislike for the game

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 11:48 AM PST

TL:DR Fun aesthetics, not so fun rewards or game. Discuss

I rarely play Artifact. Only ever playing against bots, and knowing servers would take a long while to put me into a match, I've never earned experience before and leveled up.

Today I built my first deck (not knowing a lot) and tested it first against a bot. After I lost, I tried it online to see if there was any difference. I was matched in about two seconds and began to lose. After the match was over I saw my experience bar go up only 6xp. For all the time I've played and me trying to learn, 6xp felt so small, especially when you set against the 500 xp required to level up and open another pack of cards.

Also, because I don't know the game as well as the other 100 players, and have not the cards, going into that match was like a punch to the gut: never before seen cards and heroes, defenses that ruined my plans two steps ahead of the game.

I don't think I'm fit for these card games. And if the game isn't going to reward me any better for trying to learn to play, then there's no point in playing the game when I could go back and play some more Counter Strike like the silver I am and be fine.

The crazy thing is I love the fantasy of it all. I love the world and its weapons, it's heroes and its creeps. Reading out card descriptions and seeing them fight on the board is more thrilling than the game itself.

Is there anyone else in the same boat as me?

Public opinion on Underlords latest update going south, playerbase of artifact holding and even rising.

Artifact is the star wars prequels of valve games. After all the negativity and mockery people are going to wake up and see the vision and genius behind this game.

Things are looking good for artifact coin. In it for the long haul.
