(Final survey for my PhD degree) The opportunities, threats, and strategies of esports sponsorships (Only for people who watch/participate in esports) [Ends on 30 November 2019]

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 08:59 AM PST

Hello everyone, I'm doing my PhD in marketing and I'm focusing on esports sponsorships. From May 2019 until now I have done 4 surveys. This is the last one. ATTENTION: Don't fill out this survey if you filled out the 2nd one, they are the same and have the same title (I'm reposting the 2nd survey because this is the most important one and I need a very large sample).

All surveys are anonymous and done on Google Forms. The data from the surveys will only be used for my PhD thesis and to develop 6 articles that will be published in scientific journals. The participation of all esports fans is extremely important and greatly appreciated (survey is only for people who watch/participate in esports).

This survey takes about 8 minutes to complete and is related to the opportunities, threats, and strategies of sponsoring esports. Here is the survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdUacl74DMc_BofKbD90NwRmohYAAgBlXmjjG_-P3QBmP6hCw/viewform?usp=sf_link

Thank you so much in advance.

If you are interested in easily following the results of this research, you can follow me here on Reddit or on Twitter: @EsportsAnalyses. Results are expected to be posted in this subreddit and on Twitter by the end of 2020.

This survey has been approved by the kind moderators.

Is there any cheaters in Artifact?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 12:21 PM PST

Just played a game and I had all chances to win. But suddenly I could not play a single card, I just waited until the time was up. At the same time, the opponent played his cards without any problems. There were no problems with the Internet. Of course I lost.
It is a pity to lose a match in which I could win for the first time since returning to the game.

A theory on the Long Haul.

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 01:00 AM PST

    Hello dear long haulers.

The following is just a theory so you have the full right to disregard or appreciate it , even contribute to it.
I've had more than 10 years of playing Magic, HS( #BoycottBlizzard)

There are leaks that Valve and Apple are working on a new Augmented Reality headset. So far , the VR industry isn't blowing as much as anticipated by some of the large companies. So they are taking their chances in something different. Now the current state of Artifact is rather..dull . Even if they release it as F2P and have a battlepass to farm or anything close to Legends of Runeterra's system for access to free cards by leveling- the game will still under perform.
Looking at the the current market competition that Valve has - almost all of their games seem to have competition and Valve's games are always 2nd in popularity .Of course we're not talking about the fact that other competitors have an actual marketing team and not a janitor who just promotes dota and artifact to his close friends like the one that valve has.
I am talking about overall concurrent players and twitch viewership.

Now what can Valve think of so they can have a truly successful game?
Something that's unique , not a comparable with an already existing game and is fun to the casual audience.

    Artifact 2.0 Augmented Reality .

You can play it on your phone, pc and new AR glasses that they are designing.
Something truly fresh and new to the market which has such games but no a single one is successful .

Think of it - it comes close to their original idea of a digital trading card game as you can sit on a table with friends and you can actually have that interaction between people while playing.

Unfortunately for us long haulers this won't be anytime soon. I was hoping to get an update on the anniversary of Artifact, but we'll probably get nothing. If we do get something it will be so minimal to just say thanks guys for sticking around.

Let me know what you think about the above?
