    New update

Completed campaign and 30 games under my belt. Inita impressions.

Game is much better than v1. Nothing immediately substantively that I would change. I've played magic and yugioh competitively for about 13 years.

Matches are back and forth with lots of play to them. Multiple games come down to one final combat phase where the order in which lane combat occurs is significant. I feel accomplished after winning a close game, and I know what I could have done differently to win a lost game. Nothing feels predetermined or hopeless. I haven't ever experienced a match where I feel like I lost to RNG.

Certain heroes seem useless, but no hero seems overpowered. +hp to creeps is significantly better than +dmg. +hp to heroes is better than +dmg usually.

I really like the hero drafting mode. I would love to see this expanded upon similar to captain's mode in dota. It has a ton of potential.

Initiative is important but not the game winner that it was in artifact 1. Feels balanced generally.

Text clarity needs work. Generally I am guessing as to how long effects last, what lanes they can be played it, or what defined or keyword terms mean. Needs more consistent rules text similar to Magic. Nothing should be default, everything should be on the cards.

Generally, I love the game. I play it every day. It's fun and rewarding. I will continue to play it every day.

Are your constructed AI decks valid?

I'm trying to play some constructed against the bots and all the decks are not constructed valied, they have missing heroes, 52 cards, and other inconsistencies.

    2.0 - crossroad

I thought about writing a short letter (sorry for my bad English, I am not native) because I believe, that producers deserve at least short feedback, after they gave me a chance to try the new 2.0 design. But unfortunately, the game in current execution is worse than before. Maybe it's subjective, but in my eyes was the original Artifact best card game that I ever played. There was always a space for a comeback as well as you can lose a "winned" game. This was caused because the original game was a super-hard to master it and thus after some time was enjoyable just for a niche part of players. And I think this is now your main problem in Valve. You originally thought, that if you put your game into a famous DOTA Universe, you secure a huge player base and a new gold mine. I can imagine, how was the management of Valve disappointed after release. You have to choose who should be a player of artifact: If you aim at demanding players which are looking for the challenge, please return back to version 1.0 and redesign your bad business model, create a great ranked system and your game can become a sustainable project (with a low amount of loyal players). If you try to continue with this 2.0 experiment to address a wider group of players, I'm afraid the game will turn out even worse than your first attempt. And why I think that? Because from my point of view, version 2.0 is still a complicated game but unfortunately is not fun anymore. Thus you will lose the group of players who enjoyed original Artifact + other players will find out this game too complex and also choose an alternative one. And if I mention other games, I can give you an example. I think the most popular card game is TH poker. And guess why? Because it's so easy to play and even bad players have a decent chance to win. Then I can mention your biggest rival - Hearthstone. This game is also much easier than Artifact and even if you redesign your game completely, you never get so many players as they have. Look on recent release - Legends of Runeterra. Great game, great economic - actually really F2P and still, they are far behind HS number of players. Why? Because of complexity.

I hope my message is written in an understandable manner and I am really curious if there are more players who feel like that.

    Is this game still alive?

I thought the game was dead and the community scattered, did Valve release a big update or smth?
