- I know its not a great feat but this is my first gauntlet win ever and I`m proud of it
- Is the game even playable at this point? What the future holds?

Posted: 18 Apr 2019 10:45 PM PDT Am I the only one that feels kind of deceived by how Valve handled the games poor reception? After a few half baked updates they admit the game has failed and go completely dark on us. The initial 20$ is one thing but a lot of people bought collections expecting this game would be here for at least a few years, (not talking about people who stockpiled axes to try to make a profit). The 1 million dollar tournament seemed to indicate valve was completely dedicated to see this game grow and flourish like dota 2 had. The more time passes the more it feels like they cashed in on the initial release and now are just kind of waiting for people to forget about the game. I personally enjoyed the base game (I know many didn't), but no online multiplayer game Is going to retain a player base with 0 updates and 0 communication. I gave Valve a pass for a lot of shit, but in retrospect I feel disrespected as a consumer. [link] [comments] | ||

Is the game even playable at this point? What the future holds? Posted: 19 Apr 2019 01:35 PM PDT With about 200 players daily, queues are gonna be long af, matchmaking will be nonexistent both for new players (constantly matching with veterans) and for old players (no suitable enemy basically). Because of that I expect playerbase to drop even faster in following months in addition to the fact that Artifact has 0 updates and support from Valve right now. Honestly its both funny but also sad at the time, the game had so much potential and has good fundaments for a solid entertainment. I hope devs will follow with updates and won't go silent (hoping that people forgot about game). It was total failure but its still reedemable especially as big amount of hard work had been given into it (design, voice acting is still top notch for me). I really hope that Artifact will not be forgotten by Valve, many people liked it even though it was basically alpha game with no features except basic game modes. It for sure has potential for comeback, the question is if Valve is able to successfuly rework it into solid game. In my opinion it's not that hard, making game actual F2P would be already big milestone and that's very easy step to do. But on the other hand Valve feels like they don't give a damn and their way of developing games is outdated by 10 years. Without communication I honestly doubt that they can do anything and I can't imagine they will change their ways suddenly. I can be wrong but if they couldn't react properly to massive downvotes and reaction to horrible monetization system and other important things (lack of content or frustrating RNG) I doubt they will be able to rework game completely on their own, without talking to community...
