Four New Reasons why Artifact 2.0 will be the biggest Card Game title, ever

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 08:20 PM PDT

    1. Completely (Free)Play to Play

Based on what we know (and some older leaks I heard) you will start with about 50% of the collection, playing a short amount of time to unlock the rest. This is the first time a card game of this magnitude will implement such a model. Knowing wonders this did for DotA2, and many other advantages game will have, Artifact will be insured with a healthy longevity.

    2. Workshop

Players will be able to do amazing things here. Create your favorite iteration of the game, puzzles, or entirely new game, and have it publicly available for everyone that wants to play it. First card game ever to allow such diversity - make any nerdy dream come true.

    3. Two Million Tournament

Artifact 1.0 promised us 1 million extravagance. We can logically assume 2.0 will this time deliver us at least 2 million lavishness. Repeating with bigger and bigger prizepools every year, sponsored by players via battle pass. Unheard of in the until this point halting card game scene, this will attract every pro player from other overall subpar card games, which in turn will result in even bigger success for Artifact Reborn & Forever.

    4. You Can Feel It

You don't need logic or science to predict and be sure about Artifact 2.0's upcoming success and dominance of the genre. You just know it. If you didn't, now you do. If you still don't, you will so(o)n.

The problem with half the discussions here right now

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 07:46 PM PDT

I'm excited about new Artifact, so is everyone else here. The problem is we have very little information about how the game will actually play. Normally this would be ok because we could speculate and no one would know for sure.

Right now though, there's a lot of defenders of Artifact 1.0 that are considering any proposed changes in the context of how that will change Artifact 1.0, rather than treating this as an entirely new game with some similarities.

There's no reason to assume that the framework, mechanics, stats, cards from Artifact 1.0 are any more valid than anyone's guess at this point. Mana systems could change, money systems, hero death, equipment. Since so many can be different and likely will be, it's better to treat it as a new game.

What we do know is limited. So before making an argument about something, consider this a brand new game and only base it on what we know from the last few blog posts.

r/artifact at the end of the haul, discussing 2.0 (2020, colored)

Drew some cards in paint final part: College is catching up edition.

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 11:04 AM PDT

Child's play to the better players, I'm sure, but happy with this nonetheless. Now to see if I can get a similar streak on another deck before 2.0 beta!

    Barracks in Artifact 2.0 ?

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 10:35 PM PDT

Hi i normally dont post stuff and just read. But I thought I should share my thougts with you guys. Also english is not my first language so im sorry :/

So I got an interresting idea when I thought how to change Prellex for Artifact 2. Because basically every lane has a passive barrack which spawns 1 creep a turn in the left most spot. So what would happen if we could change/influence this mechanic in artifact 2 and bend its rules.

So for example prellex new signature card would still be called "Barracks" but instead of spawning an additional creep it would change every future creep that would spawn in the corresponding lane with a "Super Creep"2-2 Stats.

But why stop here every color could get a special "Barracks" card to flesh out some of the archetypes/factions in Artifact. So black for example black could get a card called "Red Mist Rising" (improvement like "Barracks") which would change the normal creep to a black 1-1 creep with 1 siege.

Red could get something like "Bronze Legion Camp"(improvement like "Barracks") which would spawn a 2-1 red creep with 1 armor.

Green could get a "Rebellion Call"(improvement like "Barracks") which would spaw a 1-1 "Rebel Decoy" with its corresponding ability "Swap Rebel Decoy with another ally".

And finally Cards like Kanna's Signature could maybe get something like (Choose 1 or 2-> 1. modify your tower with "spawn a 2-1 Hound of War with Decay 1" in every open Slot for X[= amount of damaged units] Rounds disable normal creep spawn. OR 2. modify all towers with "spawn a 2-1 Hound of War with Decay 1" in every open Slot for X[= amount of "barracks card in play"] Rounds disable normal creep spawn.

Im totally sure that half of this effect would probably be super OP but i hope you understand that this are just random ideas.I would like to get your feedback/ideas on it. Do you thing something like this could find its place into Artifact 2 ?

TLDR : "Barracks" for every color which swap the normal 1-1 melee creep for something different.

I'm so hyped that Valve actually kept Artifact in for the long haul

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 07:16 AM PDT

I think it's pretty obvious that Artifact when on the back burner when valve needed to push out Dota Underlords as fast as possible, but I'm super excited that they've come back to Artifact.

I really enjoyed Artifact 1.0, but left when most of the playerbase evaporated. I'm super excited to pick up 2.0

Anybody else not worried AT ALL about the future of this game?

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 10:15 AM PDT

For real, I've just been spamming phantom drafts and having a blast. I've spent probably 50 dollars all in all and I couldn't care less about the most common complaints for this game.

Valve is an excellent company. Yes, they are in this for profit but they most certainly are going to keep this game feeling fresh and balanced. I know all cards are not created equal but there are enough strong cards out there to out-op the opponent on a regular basis with solid strategy.

I dunno, to me it really doesn't feel like there's that much to be worried about for the game. It's insanely fun and I couldn't be happier with it. It feels like all I see in this subreddit is people calling GG on the game's future and I gotta believe there's other folks out there just like me who are just having a blast.

Slacks talks about Artifact - "We said that the game is good, and it wasn't...I would decline a beta invitation"

Let's re-design the old cards using what we know of the new rules.

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 08:06 AM PDT

From the hero cards we've seen so far, it looks like a lot of cards will have abilities that affect multiple units, and some of their cards, like Sacred Arrow, do different damage based on where they were cast from. Let's have some fun and re-design our favorite 1.0 cards with how they might work in 2.0. Remember that this is just for fun, and isn't meant as serious suggestions to Eri(c,k).

I'll start off by posting my re-work of Kanna.

    Coming Back To The Game

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 04:25 PM PDT

I came back to Artifact after almost a year hiatus.

My deck building level is 22. My profile level is 10.

I immediately got matched up against someone with a profile level of 89.

I got destroyed. Queued up again, and got matched up against him again.

    This is why I quit.

    Did they just buffed Meepo?

    Posted: 14 Apr 2020 10:08 PM PDT

Assuming no change is happened to him, Meepo is actually buffed
    1. The battle happen simulatenously all lane, which mean, as long as meepo not sniped with ability damage, all meepo deals damage then die, not just the one in 1st lane.

    1. Hero deploy bounce Mechanic = Meepo savior

Might still be not viable tho :(
