Built this to try to counter after losing a bunch to mono red on Saturday. It's 1-1 against mono red so far what are your thoughts?

Is mobile on their radar with the new release?

    Posted: 26 Apr 2020 12:33 AM PDT

Would love to have the game on mobile systems or iPadOS.

Have they ever talked about this?

I hope Valve gives access to the beta directly to accounts rather than "keys"

Or it's going to be the same as last time. Weird exploitative giveaways and garbage. Please make it actually fair and give it randomly directly to accounts as it should have always been.

What is the next Moonday update going to be about?

I'm going with the easy bet, and I'll say it'll be about the shop / items. What's yours?

Valve sponsored beta tournaments.. What went wrong, and moving forward..

    Posted: 26 Apr 2020 01:30 AM PDT

This is what I was thinking regarding the closed beta tournaments for 1.0

I had nothing against these. In fact I was happy to hear they were putting their game through the wringer and testing extensively for imbalances... (but somehow made no changes when complaints were raised 🤦‍♂️)

I was also happy that pro players were competing in said tourneys. It was nice to see a card game get so much support from the developer..

The things that makes it stink were, One. The public hardly knew anything about Artifact, and it's the public's opinion that determines the success of your game. Two. We don't exactly know how many tournaments happened in secret. Three. There was a million dollar tournament announced long before we, the public, i.e. the people who would actually play the game and support it monetarily, even knew wtf was going on. Four. Many of the ppl in the beta were DotA2 content creators, who had their own vested interest since their content would be of much higher quality than that of anyone who's just kicking off the ground. (anti-competition).

All of these issues can be remedied now.. we have a chance to do everything right from day 1.

I love that closed beta will be released to everyone who currently owns the game. And I also love that the game is (still rumored) to be fully free.

Once the beta is in a place where Valve is happy with the state of things, IMO they should have sponsored tournaments again. But this time fkn involve EVERYONE!

Ideally this should happen at a time when Artifact is more presentable and playable so the tournament stream can have beta drops enabled, which will bring in more viewers. Closed beta access drops or item drops should not be given to other streamers cos look what that did to the Valorant twitch section

I personally have nothing against inviting a few popular streamers or personalities since the playing field is more or less level. We're all learning together!

This gives many previously unknown players the opportunity to create their own brand in a fair competitive environment, rather than having to pick up the scraps after the usual suspects ate everything up.

Building a community in an organic manner using opportunity and spectacle will go a long way towards keeping the game healthy, and ensure players and new talent gets the recognition they deserve..

And then finally they can formally announce a Bazillion dollar tournament when the game goes into open-beta/final release.

    Thoughts?
