    Unlocking the cards in 2.0

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 04:47 PM PDT

    Hey, everyone!

I've seen a few people being worried about that aspect of the update. I personally believe that it won't be the kind of grind fest you can find into other card games. The reason why getting a complete collection is usually so long - or near impossible - is to push people to buy card packs / boosters. However, Valve already said that they won't be selling cards this time.

Why make them unlockable, then? I think it's because one of the biggest issues Artifact had at launch is that it had no progression system whatsoever. They didn't even have a pop-up to congratulate you for winning packs in the prize queue in the very short beta that preceded launch. Even the progression level was added later, if you don't remember.

So I'm guessing they made the cards unlockable as a way to encourage newer players to put in the first few hours needed to understand the game. I'm almost certain that we'll get a battlepass kind of deal for cosmetics, voice packs, etc.

What are your thoughts? Am I being too optimistic here?

The only feature I personally need added in artifact 2.0

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 08:18 AM PDT

    Spectate Friends.

This feature is so underrated, but in my opinion its what keeps me playing other card games. It effectively allows you to CO-OP any card game.

Some people say "oh just stream on discord" or something to that effect, but its not the same. In a spectate mode, both people can look at the cards individually instead of asking the player to mouse over them.

Its also a great way to train new players.

Adding this feature would go a long way.

(PS The ability to spectate a draft woulid be cool too)

Need Advice For Wuhek's U/B Ramp deck from ACS

    Here is the decklist: https://www.playartifact.com/d/ADCJfkkNrgCIAFFkQV6uwKlAoqUgQFxAbMBiAQiAZWRlHJldGEgc3RpcGnEhyByYW1wICggcGlzZTRrYSB2aWxhdGEgKQ__

No clue if this was just a joke or it is actually good. Would like to get some more insight about how this deck operates, what it is good against and what is important to remember when playing it.

With Artifact coming back, can we talk about the handling of this Subreddit and Discord?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 04:23 AM PDT

A lot of people I've spoken to, over the nearly two years now, partially blamed this subreddit and by extension a Discord managed by the same people.

Posts were deleted and people banned from either over concerns or criticism of the game.

Some friends who I tried to get into the game, said they looked at the subreddit and saw what a creepy hugbox it was despite criticism of the game elsewhere and that that turned them off from it. It reeked of "managed sub" to cover up bad things. They didn't want to try and judge the game for themselves, since it was "so obviously so bad that that had to be covered up".

For like more than a year, this hasn't a problem for the time being. Moderators don't seem to care anymore since the game died. But with it coming back, we aren't going to have the same moderators creating the same problems, are we?

    compensation

Many require rewards for spending money in the game. How do you like the idea of such awards?
