Artifact BETA 2.0 Sign Up Page is UP!

Watching the video for the 2.0 Beta, they only drew 1 card.

    Posted: 21 May 2020 12:38 PM PDT

As much as I disagree with the infinite hand size/infinite board size being important, I actually really liked how we drew two cards in 1.0 and was kind of hoping it would stay.

They drew at 6:40 in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjoyeBGwJVY

    Draft Ladder

    Posted: 21 May 2020 05:42 PM PDT

Like a lot of the people posting on here I played draft exclusively in Artifact 1.0. The head to head hero draft in the preview video looked interesting but they presented hero draft as a way to introduce the game to new people who aren't yet up for constructed. I got the sense that the constructed mode is what Valve might expect experienced players to turn to and the mode where there would be ladder play.

I don't know if it's feasible for match time, but I'd prefer if a head to head draft and build your deck on the fly mode was the main game mode, complete with a ladder. I imagine adding depth comparable to constructed to the hero draft mode by giving some options on the card sets attached to the heroes. I realize that balancing out match time vs drafting/deck building/game time would be a big issue with this sort of a match.

I would also be happy if we just had a more meaningful ladder attached to the draft mode from Artifact 1.0.

Can we keep forward arrows as part of the UI?

    Posted: 21 May 2020 12:50 PM PDT

Can we keep forward arrows as part of the UI?

It's just strange to me that certain units have arrows point forward like Sven's cleave, but then other units like debbie have no arrow. I really feel like it's not that much clutter to keep them, I understand that we don't "need them" but it just feels weird to have these hold-overs with cleave and not just include all arrows..

They seemed to remove forward arrows on everyone who doesn't have cleave or isn't pointing to an adjacent enemy.

Has anyone gotten a Beta sign up email?

    Posted: 21 May 2020 07:33 AM PDT

A friend of mine told me that he and some of his friends got an email to sign up.

Is he pulling my leg or are invites coming out? Is there a setting on Steam that I accidentally might have that excludes me from the beta?

Signed up for Beta - Looking to stream it ALOT

    Posted: 21 May 2020 09:56 PM PDT

Hi everyone, been sussing this sub reddit alot more recently after we've had weekly updates about the game state again. I'm looking to get back into streaming once i get accepted into the game again, and try to hammer it out really strong as i did enjoy the 1st iteration. Made a small name for myself playing GWENT earlier on in the year since there wasn't really any other card game to grab my attention ( 30+ followers on twitch ) and want to build and really push on this. So my question is, would people be interested in watching campaign, drafting etc? I know there will probably be bigger names streaming the game but as soon as the ranking system comes in i'm going to go very hard on it.

I have roughly 200 hours on the original, and spent about $500 on cards ( feelsbad ) but i sold alot of my cosmetics from dota 2 to fund this.

All help and feedback is greatly appreciated and hopefully see everyone there, i will be posting another post once i get accepted, but for now here are the links if interested:

    My body is ready!

    Posted: 21 May 2020 08:56 PM PDT

Have the announced any kind of system for those that purchased via microtransactions? Some kind of 1-for-1 deal?

    Posted: 21 May 2020 02:57 PM PDT

I spent quite a bit of money when the game was originally released. Curious if that will have any kind of reciprocity from 1.0 to 2.0. Or am I just out of luck?

Thanks in advance for any answers. I haven't seen any thing and I hope I don't get downvoted or shit on because I spent money on this game and tried to support it when it came out.

Edit: Love getting downvoted and ridiculed for supporting a game by giving them money.

What are your unreasonable or [currently] unrealistic dreams for the game itself?

    Posted: 21 May 2020 08:43 AM PDT

Mine would be something along the lines of an UN- set in the future at some point. I've loved the recent un sets in magic, they are just hilarious to play with a complete disregard to competitive viability. What are yours?

    TINFOIL HAT TIME!

    Posted: 21 May 2020 05:07 PM PDT

Thursday evening (US Eastern at least) was when every patch was released for 1.0...nothing in the beta sign-up said the first keys would be given out days away from now, just "soon". Pull that tinfoil tight down around your noggin and lets get playing!

Hey, Valve! Surprise everyone and make everyone happy!

    Posted: 21 May 2020 04:15 PM PDT

Give some people access to the beta tonight, so they can wake up to e-mails welcoming them into the game!

I can't say I've a good track record with games of chance, but it would be really nice to see this sub explode with posts of joy, saying, "I got in!" Give us a little holiday feeling, waking up to a gift we didn't expect.

    Just a thought and suggestions.

    Posted: 21 May 2020 06:47 PM PDT

    1) I love the implementation of Captains Draft but however constructed decks will be null in the process since if you pick 70% red you will get a random(?) pool of 70% red cards.

My suggestion to this problem is adding different cards tied to the hero, this will also help with the meta curve to not be hero focused (whether for the better or worse). Example; I pick drow and the cards tied to her COULD BE unit summons and buffs, the next game I pick drow and I could get something completely different. Of course it wouldn't be complete luck based because you can view the cards tied to the hero draft pick.

    2) Also, me being a DOTA Underlords player love the addition of random items and tiers to them. I believe this is a step in the right direction.

I would also like to make a suggestion of including alliance bonuses to card colours in this context. I feel having Red buff Reds and Green buffing Green would only make your hand more unused thus slowing gameplay. I would prefer this to be removed entirely but it's a controversial topic. Example; 3 Red, gives you brawny buff that gives all red heroes +2 HP when killing heroes.

I would directly email them more of my thoughts and ideas but I do not know their support/suggestion email address.

Sad to say, but Artifact 2.0 might be worse from gameplay perspective than Artifact 1.0

    Posted: 21 May 2020 04:03 PM PDT

Playing all lanes at once + seeing all lanes at once + having only 1 mana pool...does it even feel like a 3 lane game anymore? Changing the RNG of the flop and arrows was fine imo, as they were getting a lot of complaints, but why did they have to mess with the core gameplay features?

The biggest problems with 1.0 were the economy system (by a huge margin) and lack of features, in this order, then RNG and maybe game length. Anything else WAS NOT a problem. The game was amazing! I hope it's not too late to change these features if it turns out the game is too washed out.

I also dislike items having fixed prices, it kind of makes them more generic and have less identity.

I do hope everything they've presented is up for change and I really hope I'm wrong and they know what they're doing, but watching the demo makes me think they might not unfortunately. I don't want to play another Hearthstone or Runeterra.
