So like tilte says insted of having '1mil big dic tourney look at us we esports' tourney have some smaller community tournaments. Tourney option in artifact its great I have not seen it in any other card game why not use that? ABL proved that you can run hourly tournaments without much automation and that there is interest for such a format. If you run 1000$ hourly tournaments it would equal to 24k a day or 72k a month. In a year you get to a mil (more or less). Not to mention it is steam money so its not real mil usd. Structure it in similar way to poker sites (yes i know gambling bad, publicity nightmare just take their model) where most money is in top 3 spots and then everything else is spread around. So if tournament has 1k players top 300 get in the money where 300th gets 3.2$ and first gets 320$. I think casuals will play ( i have few hours to kill might as well earn couple of $ playing artifact ) as well as hard core third world grinders that will make sure every lobby is fuller. Streamers will grind this 24/7 specially low to mid range ones which will make sure that artifact is high(er) in twitch directory. Old system of dumping money in pro leagues that only 100 ppl can play does not work (go ask blizzard hots department). I think this is prefect opportunity to bring new people, streamers, grinders as well as casuals that will get dazzled by hats and earn you some sweat sweat real money. submitted by /u/skybook123 [link] [comments]
