Three lanes with one mana pool feels weak.

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 10:33 PM PDT

I dont know about you guys but one mana pool for three lanes feels like we have three lanes cause mana color system built around that. Main selling point about this game was independent lanes and its just gone. New system feels like mtg with extra steps. Not in a good way. Limits your plays and deckbuilding and adds very little. I am not even above avarage but am i not the target audiance?

    Holy shit I’m crying

I hope they add an actual constructed queue soon.

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 08:15 PM PDT

Even with the dedicated constructed channel it's hard to find a game to play constructed, unless you feel like waiting 10 or more minutes hoping someone who wants to play shows up, then you have to hope neither player gets disconnected from the server. Even as more invite waves go out, the number of people wanting to play constructed really isn't going up. It's the evening in the Western hemisphere, schools are out for the summer, and there are currently 14 people who want to play constructed.

Why is the overdraw pile a thing?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 03:12 AM PDT

Seems to me it just limits deck creativity and limits your options in a game. Let us have access to as many cards and items as we can draw/buy instead of arbitrarily disabling them from being used when we already have 10 cards in hand. If someone manages to draw over 10 cards or just designs their deck with a lot of reactive cards or cards you want to collect for a combo, don't punish them by locking them away. There's plenty of space in the UI.

Artifact 2.0 players are fierce! but don;t forget about the casuals

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 12:22 PM PDT

I have to admit i never played a lot of Artifact 1.0 even though I liked the game. The economy was predatory but honestly I felt the games were really difficult and not the best for matchmaking.

Only played 20 draft games but this is how I feel. 2.0 no longer feels like a money grab but man the players are still really tough. I've played a lot of hearthstone (7000k battlegrounds and near legend years ago) but artifact is so much more complex. That being said the 33% of the time I win i feel I really deserve it or my opponent messed up.

I hope artifact 2.0 though finds a way to bring in more casuals because with how good and devoted the fan base is developers are gonna need a way to gently introduce new players without making them feel like running off. It's a really good game but they need to find a way not to scare off new players.

Artifact 2.0: Hero Draft Play Through With Explanations #3

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 06:14 PM PDT

What are your thoughts about Hero cards as a general mechanic?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 03:52 PM PDT

What are your thoughts on them?

I've been playing a bit of 2.0 and played 1.0 and my feeling in both games is that they dominate the game too much. Because they're so strong, can be played for free and respawn, I feel like a large amount of a decks personality comes from the hero cards, making a lot of decks feel homogenised. It also makes me make a lot of decisions around my hero, so gameplay feels similar even with different decks. For example, I can mix up my cards in an all red deck but I'll still be making decisions around a couple of heroes, whereas mixing up a similar number of cards in MTG or Hearthstone can lead to entirely different strats.

This will likely be alleviated a bit with more cards but I don't think the problem will go away. Heroes dominate the feel and flavour of your deck too much.

It's a core part of the gameplay so I'm not sure there is a solution that prevents Artifact from being Artifact anymore and I still find the game fun so it's not a deal-breaker, but it prevents me from wanting to play back to back matches like I can do with HS or MTG.

What do you think about a way to rate each card?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 08:24 AM PDT

    Hi,

yesterday I was playing constructed single color decks. I took every one card see how they work.

While playing I thought it would be useful to be able to set a personal rating to a card. Like simple 5 stars, and then we could sort cards according to our own ratings, and this data can be used to form an overall rating among all players.

    Iron Sharpens Iron

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 12:13 AM PDT

I had an opponent draw two of these early on. He was able to play it round one and round two. His hero ended up having like 60 attack. It seemed like even when creep with 1 or 2 damage attacked his hero, who had 2 armor, the effect would still trigger again in addition to the round start.

I had three Iron Sharpens Iron my hand and drew one at like 10 mana.

Drawing one of these immediately is almost game over.
