It makes total sense that Beta invites are very limited

    Posted: 02 Jun 2020 04:00 AM PDT

Today's gaming industry is one of the most saturated industries out there. There are so many games that people jump from release to release, only sticking with those with which they had a very good first impression. In this context, games have ONE SINGLE chance to succeed.

Valve is looking at artifact's second chance which is even harder to pull off than the first one. Some people already played it in the first try and erased the game from their memory after the failure. Not to mention most of you stopped playing after a month; you are the living proof. For this reason it is important that the beta stays as a beta. Noone is going to stick with an unfinished game. If they want to succeed they need to take care that the widely played version is the finished one, and not some placeholder-art version. Beta people are there to fulfill their role, test for bugs, and give feedback.

So pls, make a bit of sense of what Valve is trying to prevent before asking for beta release and huge number of invites. There's one last bullet, and the chances are very slim even for that one.

-Can Ogre Magi multicast spells of other colors if they were turned blue by Rubick or Vanessa?

-Can Infernal Ally summon more copies of Spirit Swordsman without killing it?

-What happens when you play Spirit Swordsman in Kanna's lane?

If anybody has more questions or tests, please comment below.

2.0 is nearly impossible to play on laptop

    Posted: 02 Jun 2020 10:56 AM PDT

Everything is so damn small - it's like a game for ants. Having all three lanes visible shrunk everything so much it's nearly impossible to read the cards or tell what's going on.

All of the icons and other signifiers have also been radically shrunk down on their own terms separate from the overall shrinking such as the indicator that a card is going to die went from a giant red X to now in 2.0 being a tiny little skull in the corner.

And the old feel of combat being so crunchy and physical with the animations and sounds is also gone now because everything is microscopic - there is no impact on clashes anymore, no satisfying obliteration of enemy cards.

My eyes were killing me after 15-20 minutes of play.

exclusive card as rewards for pve campaigns are a terrible idea.

    Posted: 02 Jun 2020 12:00 PM PDT

I and probably many other don't care at all about playing a card game pve. It's boring, uninteresting and IMO just a waste of time. I get it that many others enjoy this kind of content and there is definitely room for it in artifact, but locking cards behind a campaign is just terrible for players that only want to play pvp. They should offer cosmetics for pve campaigns.

Will draft still be in 2.0?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2020 09:54 AM PDT

Limited formats have historically been one of my favorite to play in card games. I haven't seen any footage yet, but does 2.0 still have draft? If not, I hope they don't get rid of it.

Has anyone here done this campaign? How to do this (hero and strategy)? Enemy having 50 HP tower with 10 armor is almost impossible to win against!

The only actual problem with the beta...

    Posted: 02 Jun 2020 11:42 AM PDT

Imo there is only one problem with the way the beta was done. It wasn't their decision to make it limited. It was the way they keep telling people about "waves" of invites. If a very insignificant amount of people are going to be let in at a time, please stop announcing these waves, especially in advance.

If like 1% of the sub gets in each wave, which is what the poll suggests, on average it would take 100 waves to be on drop rate for the key. Most people are posting angry rants onto the 2.0 forums after wave 3. Drop rate is 100.

If they decide to do waves that are like 10 20 30% or more then announcing each wave makes sense and hypes people up for a decent shot at getting in, but the number of people getting in is not enough that should be being advertised on Twitter. Let people on the subreddit brag about getting in and we will figure out the small little waves ourselves.
