Gotta admit, Artifact broke my heart. I remember when i was super hyped for the game and listened to the soundtrack all day when the release was only a few days away. I was so god damn sure that this is the game i will play for many years to come. I am a doggie (⌣̩̩́_⌣̩̩̀)

    Im gonna keep streaming artifact

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 09:14 AM PST

I have 500 Hours playtime, I wanna keep streaming this game longer and longer. Artifact is both fun and competitive. The RNG elements are Quite well implemented and we have tools to control them, they challenge me mentally. Theres literally no matchmaking in this game, and this is not ideal, yet I keep finding myself queuing up time and time again. The game feels empty these days, and that is a shame, but I'll play on as long as there is even just one other person to beat, and stream on for as long as the game lives.

I started before the beta and have no plans of stopping.

Just thought you may want to know.

    Is there any news?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 08:18 AM PST

I was defending this game... im being patient, i understand the game and i see its flaws, heck i was doing pretty fucking well at it and only dropped it once it felt like there were no more options to explore with this broken base set and some mechanics which seriously inhibit deck building space also the lack of a true matchmaking made any casual games zero challenge.

Ive been sitting here quietly for 2 months not touching the game but hoping that SOMETHING would happen ... the item changes i havent even played with because they seemed fully irrelevant after seeing them and as there was zero reaction on this sub to them i guess i was correct in that assessment...

is there ANY i mean ANY info out there on when i can expect this "long haul" to start?

Is there any official word on the last WePlay! tournament or was it silently postponed/ cancelled?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 12:22 PM PST

It was supposed to happen in February.

Haven't seen their reddit account in this sub in quite some time, did I miss an announcement?

Something's missing from the community page

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 02:43 PM PST

Did valve hide the playercount? It's not showing up on the steam community page for artifact: https://steamcommunity.com/app/583950

    https://i.imgur.com/uOsl2np.png

Edit: False Alarm, it shows 318 now: https://i.imgur.com/D5IqDwI.png

Edit 2: Gone again. I guess it was that under 300 thing the comments mentioned

    Im gonna quit artifact

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 05:31 AM PST

I have 200 Hours playtime, I cant take this "game" any longer. Artifact is neither fun nor competitive. The RNG elements are the worst things ive ever seen, it damaged me mentally. Theres literally no matchmaking in this game, no reason to queue for a game. The game feels so empty, its depressing.

I come back when the game gets out of beta.

I just wanted to share my two cents

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 09:35 PM PST

My two cents emphasizes playing a lot of very cheap cards for rising anger and heroic resolve value. Buy card draw when you can. It allows for cheaky plays like giving the enemy armor, then using rend.

A few other interesting decks yall might enjoy:

Saw a shadow was from a request from a viewer to make a deck around "assassin's shadow." Drop off an assassin's shadow and ball lightning away. Let the creeps under oath do the pushing for you.

Trickle down economics doesn't actually work. But its gonna make your opponent mad. Just feed and then kill their items. Inspired by the last deckpacito.

Operation screw one lane was made for the ASAP weekly podcast challenge to play OD and 4 black heroes. Use OD to stall a lane, mostly playing astral imprisonment defensively. Kill a tower, then suddenly move all of your black heroes into a single lane and oath.

Anti-armor zerg and Lingchi (death by a thousand cuts) use the same basic concept -- lower the enemy's armor then use ignite, conflag and veno wards to blast them.

I hope yall enjoy. And don't stop playing. Unless you want to.

Survey about your opinions on the different aspects of Artifact.

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 03:20 AM PST

    Hey r/artifact,

I've been recently asked to make a survey involving a product's marketing, and i thought i'd introduce a gaming product since there has been no research at all about this topic in this class yet. I chose Artifact as i am very familiar with the game as a player and because there are many different opinions surrounding the game's marketing, monetization, playerbase as well as the gameplay itself that i have seen on this subreddit. This survey takes about 4-6 minutes and asks your overall opinion about the different aspects of the game.

    Link to the survey: https://goo.gl/forms/vUQSrkSReYBOACi32

PS: This is the first time i make a survey so if you have any comments, all input and suggestions are appreciated.

    Cheers,

Even though this forum can be bad at times, I have never experienced any mean players while playing the game.

Even when I am losing hard, when I play a great card, a "Well played" makes me smile.

Thumbs up to everyone who makes this game more enjoyable to play.

How is MTG:A going to survive Artifact release

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 10:44 PM PST

I mean, unlike other casual (HS) or half-casual (Gwent) digital cardgames, in my opinion, MTG:A is actually aiming to acquire the same hardcore player as Artifact. Also, in compariston to WotC, Valve has amazingly more resources to spend on marketing and professional tournament scene.

Valve is known to make games that are not p2w, while heartstone by now is not only p2w, but pay to be able to win a single game, and mtga has buisness model compareable to a mobile game.

    Whats ur thoughts?

    Faction based decks

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 09:20 PM PST

The lore of artifact and the conflict of the factions is super interesting. It would be really cool if they next expansion allows for competitive or viable faction decks. The Red Mist and Stonehall battling out in each thematic deck would be amazing. Hope they keep that in mind while fixing the game, which I hope doesn't deviate from the current game-play.
If you guys have any thematic decks share them along! I'll be brewing some myself tomorrow.

Suggestion: Give every hero +5 base siege damage

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 10:33 AM PST

I think lots of us agree that arrows can be pretty tilting. If every hero had +5 siege damage, then your hero deployments would always make some meaningful impact. This would avoid the scenario where one tiny creep could tank the three heroes you deployed to a lane.

As an example, think of how great it is to play Thunderhide Pack. You always deal 6 or 14 tower damage. Feels good.

    What do you guys think?
