Artifact actually has "killed Hearthstone" for me Posted: 22 Mar 2019 09:39 PM PDT Gotta admit this is a preeeeetty boring story. But what the hell, so tumbleweedy around here, might as well. For the past 3 or whatever many years, I have played 100-400 games a month of Hearthstone. I have certainly enjoyed it too. A turn based strategy game with a competitve scene? Yup I was in. The short seasons was the main issue I had with it, as I felt it didn't allow me to compete unless I was prepared to put in such a huge volume. And I just didn't enjoy the game enough to do that. I was never fully in love with Hearthstone, but I still got hyped for every expansion and spent 50-100$ on each one. So I heard about Artifact and I bought Artifact, and got completely addicted to Artifact, playing about 50-60 hours a week over the first 2 months (with a job, I was hardly sleeping) I play constructed only, and I don't mind the usual complaints. I only need a competitive ladder and I would be doing 50 hours a week again to try and reach the top of it! I mean obviously I'd love there to be millions of players and huge tournaments and all those good stuff features like replays and I wouldn't complain if they balanced all the unusable heros and cards and dropped another set and more mechanics etc. But really even the basic foundation is enough to keep me 50 hours a week, if only it had a competitive rankings system. So while it is still true that I have ended up in the "waiting for this illusive patch" camp. I am literally ready to play 24/7 again. Aaaanyway, so I thought ... Hearthstone is having a new year and the meta is going to change massively, exciting times right? I'll just play that again until Artifact drops a patch. So it's nice to be legend when the patch drops, so your straight in the mix, and because I haven't played since November I am down at rank 20. So i read up on what state the meta is in, make a few decks, and get on with it.... I play a game then another, and another... and I just don't enjoy it... I thought force another few, maybe it will click... ten games later and that is it... The gameplay is so yawn to me now after playing Artifact. Literally I feel like there are around 20% or maybe less impactful decisions per Hearthstone game? I just can't play it anymore. I haven't played Gwent or MTGA or Shadowverse, maybe I'll try them and like/love them. But kind of regretably Artifact has killed Hearthstone for me. [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Mar 2019 11:04 AM PDT Can you play Keenfolk Golem and Coupe de Grace if they are the only card in you hand? I imagine Keenfolk Golem you can, since the text is "Discard your hand", but Coupe de Grace is less clear because if you don't have any card how can you discard a random card? [link] [comments]
What random effects would you like to see removed/kept in the game? Posted: 22 Mar 2019 05:42 AM PDT Card games need RNG in some form but clearly, Artifact's RNG was poorly implemented. I'm curious what the users here find most frustrating in the game and would like changed because there'll be a few different answers.
What do you like/dislike? Edit: I forgot to mention Bounty Hunter/Magi procs, /u/Thorrk_ reminded me with their comment [link] [comments]
Did anyone else dislike being stuck with same deck for games in draft? Posted: 21 Mar 2019 11:37 PM PDT I being playing autochess only, but honestly I enjoyed Artifact more. I was a decent player, was lvl 19 rank 71 draft with 63 percent winrate in expect draft when I quit. I was making "profit"( didn't care about it). Its just that you kind of know how good a deck is after you draft it... And it wasn't fun for me to play through a subpar deck. I just don't feel like login to play that deck while I feel like a beast after drafting two bristles and 1 ToT Autochess.. There are ranks. There is chat which I do use, and not to trash talk( which seems to be the case with Artifact). And every game is new RNG, and there is a shitload of rng but its ok since I am not stuck with it for a long period of time. Being stuck with a bad/ok draft. Is this a problem for others as well?
