Poll: How would categorize the average /r/Artifact troll?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 09:36 PM PDT

I'm sure most lurkers know the type of poster I'm talking about, the kind of person who hasn't played in months, doesn't like the game, etc, but still somehow enjoys shitposting about the game on a regular basis. I'm not really talking about the individuals who enjoy the game mostly but dislike arrow RNG, short timers, or wish there was a new set of cards. I'm also not talking about the players who honestly didn't enjoy the game, posted their negative review(s) and moved on with their lives.

I'm kind of curious what category do you think the "modal" troll falls into?

Category A: The Emotionally Over-invested Troll: An adult who spent $20 but feels it's difficult to move on with their lives 4 months later.

Category B: The Too-Smart-For-Us Troll: A troll who thinks they are ultra-intelligent and playing the meta-market. They troll to reduce the price of cards so they can later 'profit' from a possible increase / long haul patch.

Category C: The Self-Aware Cheap Teen Troll: A teen / pre-teen who couldn't scrape together $20 and thinks they should complain until Valve gives them free stuff. Thinks that if they complain long enough, Valve will make it f2p.

Category D: The Naive Entitled Teen Troll: A teen/pre-teen who couldn't believe companies actually charge money for their games. Probably grew up playing Dota2 or Fortnite, and honestly believes every game should be f2p. Might think they are trolling Artifact "out of principle" or that they are the vanguard of a movement to save people money from evil corporations.

Category E: The Sadists: A troll who just enjoys watching the world burn, or sees it as an excuse to hassle players enjoying themselves.

I'm honestly pretty torn, I'm sure we have a mix of all of these present. Category B seems the least likely, but I would also argue Category E is not so common. By now, most of Category E have probably jumped ship onto some other product.

I think the recent posts about being emotionally over-invested for a $20 product would help those people realize it and move on... so I guess most likely some combination of C and D.

The difficulty is probably that most Self-Aware Cheap Teens will probably be smart enough to masquerade as Naive Entitled Teens. In other words, if they admit they are just knowingly cheap, Valve probably won't listen to them.

Anyways, I'm sure a troll will copy-paste this with "who is the average Artifact player" and some different titles within 20 minutes. But even though that copy-pasta will get more upvotes, I thought this might be a good place for actual players to vent and discuss the issues of the subreddit.

Poll: What is most likely to get you to play Artifact (again or for the first time)?

This post is more for the lurkers on the subreddit who are waiting for a change to play again (like me). I just need an expansion to be honest. I love the gameplay but got kinda bored with the base set.

Easy way to purchase a full set of Artifact cards?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 11:37 AM PDT

Love this game. Decided I want to own all the cards just for collection purposes. Is there a quick and easy way to buy 3-of every card and 1-of every hero that you're currently missing?

Are there any regular draft tournaments besides ABL? Asking for a bored "long haul" guy. Thanks
