Want to breathe a little life back in Artifact...join the ABL Ladder. $2k in prizes up for grabs.

    Posted: 14 Mar 2019 10:21 AM PDT

I stumbled across this last week and I wish I had found it sooner.

While we wait for Valve to release a patch, you can participate in a ladder now and win prizes in the main event at the end of the month. Join ABL and participate in the hourly tournaments (24-5). Be in the top 128 on the leaderboard and participate in the main event.

    Join on discord here: https://discord.gg/3mEKY2

You can then find invite links to the hourly tournaments under the #lobby-links channel.

After following the invite, load up Artifact and go to Social Play -> Tournaments.

While waiting for Restartifact™, here's a look at some other Dota card games - presented in meme format.

    I am still here..

    Posted: 14 Mar 2019 10:08 AM PDT

I am sure you are too. I haven't played a single game of Artifact since like 2 weeks after release. I still check this subreddit like maybe once a week or when I remember Artifact exists lol.

I hope a big update is released before I completely forget about this game or before another card game comes out that does it right. I LOVE card games but I am burnt out on all of them. I will give Artifact a second shot if a good update is released. Until then, I will continue to lurk with my popcorn in hand lolol

I'm still playing, and having fun (well, mostly).

    Posted: 14 Mar 2019 01:44 PM PDT

Almost 300 hours, level 70 constructed, level 41 whatever-its-called. I still play daily because I enjoy the strategy, the cards, the art, and the voice work.

I agree with most of the problems people discuss in this forum. I believe there are ways to fix some of the needless RNG (arrows, abilities that do things a % of the time), make more heroes viable and all heroes more interesting, and general balance fixes (slight nerf to monoblue, major nerf to ramp, etc).

It's harder finding matches now, and I play against the same people pretty often. It sucks that the constructed base is split between two modes (of which prized shouldn't exist in the first place) and only the less competitive one is "free".

Despite this the game is still fun, I still enjoy playing it (apart from un-counterable turn two EoQ/ToT ramp stupidity) and I feel I got my $50 worth out of it even if this ends up being it.

Are mods associated with Valve in some way?

    Posted: 14 Mar 2019 03:04 PM PDT

All those deleted posts make me wonder what's the motivation from mods. I couldn't think other reasons except Valve asks them to do so.

Would you be mad if Valve made Artifact an Early Access game now?

    Posted: 14 Mar 2019 11:24 AM PDT

If Valve turned around and said their launch didn't go as planned and they were reworking the game. Put it in early access and made incremental test changes. Would you prefer that?

    Signature card change idea

    Posted: 14 Mar 2019 01:51 PM PDT

I believe games become better when their mechanics become more open and free. I think one of the things holding deck construction and balance back are the signature cards. I think the landscape would look a lot different and more interesting if sig cards weren't auto included with each hero, rather you could include them or not like any other card.

Then the way you make them still be signature cards is that instead of having the cards auto-included, you have the card ability buffed if the signature hero is part of your deck. So Vicious Nasal Goo would do -2 armor normally, but if Bristleback is in your deck then the card does -3 or -4 armor.

This would give you more of a reason to use some heroes that may have bad sig cards, and less a reason to use others who only have good ones. Then the meta would expand even more as we discover some sig cards actually work great with heroes you otherwise wouldn't have included with them.

    The definition of insanity is...

    Posted: 14 Mar 2019 08:15 AM PDT

This sub. We all know it is Thursday... Stop expecting the big patch every week. The next patch will be v2.0. Valve knows if they make a mega patch, they have enough swing to get people to try Artifact again. Something of that magnitude takes time. They have one more shot to get this right.
