Is anyone who spent $100 on a beta key still here?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2019 05:22 AM PST

What are your thoughts on the game? Do you regret buying into the beta? What were your expectations when buying the key?

I hope future updates make losing feel less bad

    Posted: 23 Feb 2019 09:13 PM PST

I've seen this point made in passing in other posts here, but I wanted to emphasize it. In the current version of Artifact, losing feels pretty bad, especially for infrequent or less-skilled players, because the current XP system rewards you heavily for winning 1 or 3 games per week and basically doesn't reward you at all for anything else. It would be nice if Artifact had some sort of reward for players who play but don't get a ton of wins. That reward could be incremental but meaningful progress towards unlocking cosmetics or profile pictures, or it could be a set of statistics in your profile that track things like the number of games you've played, number of times you've deployed each hero, etc. It would just be nice to have a little something to show for a half-hour play session that ends in a loss.

I am a casual player who plays a few games a week and plays with janky $1 homebrew decks. I assume Artifact needs to attract players like me in addition to hardcore enthusiasts in order to have a healthy player population. Please, Valve, if you're going to implement things like XP and levels in order to get players to keep playing by giving them serotonin hits, give me a few serotonin hits too! I am happy to continue playing and losing with my janky $1 homebrew decks as long as I don't feel like I'm wasting my time.

    In Search Of

So, I'm a casual player. I bought a full playset before the cards bottomed out.

I enjoyed playing draft before player counts dropped dramatically.

And I still play regularly, but I'm stuck at Draft level 59. And over the last two weeks, I just can not win more than one or two draft games in a row.

Reading strategies is fine - most of the ones I find are pretty obvious. I have to figure a very successful player would be able to see some glaring things from my games that could help focus advice/training.

    Any recommendations on finding someone?

Date of Release - Major Changes in Artifact

    Posted: 23 Feb 2019 08:24 PM PST

Magic Arena expansion is going to be released in late March, while Hearthstone Expansion is going to be released in early April.

I am sure Valve has already learned its lesson not to be so arrogant against its competition (i.e., deciding to not have daily/weekly rewards) and will not release its major changes to Artifact and compete head on with the new expansions of Hearthstone and Magic Arena.

With that said, I feel that the major changes to Artifact will probably be release either early March or late April/May, as Valve will want to release its major changes to Artifact at a time where card game players are a little bit tired of the Hearthstone and Magic Arena metas.

    What do you guys think?
