The 12nd Weekly Stupid Questions Thread

    Posted: 12 Feb 2019 09:00 AM PST

Ready the questions! Feel free to ask anything (no matter how seemingly moronic).

When the first hit strikes wtih desolator, the hit stirkes as if the - armor debuff had already been placed?

There's no desolator in this game yet.

    Rumusque Blessing

    Mana: 3

    Rarity: Common

    Illustrator: John Stanko

Summary: Choose a lane. Modify allies in that lane with +3 Health.

    • What decks/cards (spells/improvements/heroes/creeps) synergize well with Rumusque Blessing?

    • What format (constructed vs. draft) does Rumusque Blessing do well in?

    • What kind of experiences have you had with Rumusque Blessing?

    • What changes would you make (if any) to Rumusque Blessing?

Will valve be "in it for the long haul" when we hit 500 concurrent players?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2019 12:54 PM PST

Like who are they making this game for at that point? I really doubt they will sink money on an ongoing basis with that level of concurrency, they are a business after all. Don't get me wrong I love this game, but the way they handled spectating and economy, none of my friends want to play it. no one wants to play it. And even though I love the game system, I don't want to play with randos - just too lonely.

Watching this sub die is worse than watching Artifact die

    Posted: 12 Feb 2019 02:20 AM PST

Front page is nothing but yesterday's content.

If this literally no content shitpost can get to the frontpage, it means the sub is dead.

Edit: long time lurker here, never expected my first and possibly only post on r/artifact to blowup. I guess I can thank GabeN for this at least.

Edit2: since this post is still up, to any Valve employee reading this, just give us a sign that Valve have not given up on Artifact yet. A little faith goes a long way.

GabeN's response about the next big update

    Posted: 12 Feb 2019 08:14 AM PST

Looking for Valve statement, the 1mio+ Tournament is cancelled or postponed until TI / August?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2019 03:09 AM PST

"UNKNOWN INTERN" gives hint of what's to come in Q1 of 2019 in artifact AND thats just the beginning.

    https://youtu.be/mERhtoD21rU?t=1106

I love the game but had high esport aspirations playing it (main focus was competition and competing in big tournaments, not just casual play/ currently lvl 42 with 71Draft/71Constructed). I was waiting for any announcement, any sign of life for the pro scene. At this point the only interesting tournaments have been 3rd party and most of them were invite only anyways. The 2nd wave of 3rd party tournaments are with open qualifications which I love and support, unfortunately most organizers have burnt their hands at this point and probably won't come back and host more tournaments. I still enjoy playing but without any big tournaments coming up I am growing more and more suspicious that Valve will not host any big tournaments or delay them until late Q3/Q4 of this year. What do you guys think is the chance that a 1mio+ tournament will not happen at all or will be heavily further delayed? I think unfortunately the % is growing with every day. I assume the tournament is cancelled and maybe they have given up on it, otherwise it will be connected to The international and a new expansion/a lot of changes, which means we will have to wait another 6 months.

And now what? Is the lvl progression going to reset at some point? I have no reason to play anymore.

Recent DotA 2 controversy shows Valve is comfortable lying to players

    Posted: 12 Feb 2019 06:42 PM PST

if you aren't up to speed with the controversy, Valve said a pro player was not banned by the Chinese government, then later it came out that he was and Valve was basically kowtowing to Chinese pressure.

Valve also said there would be a 1 million dollar tournament by the end of March, and yet it's mid February and no details on even how to qualify have been released.

It's likely there's just lying and there won't be a TI for artifact.

"in it for the long haul" also probably means "abandoned game"

Artifact is harder abs harder to play

    Posted: 12 Feb 2019 01:36 PM PST

With less players raised a problem of competition inside game.
Now only lovers and pro players left, and both knows how to play this shit. For myself I noticed it's became really hard to play constructed or draft. And what do you think about that?

What is the easiest way to buy one of every card I don't have, considering the x3 of each card and x1 for heroes?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2019 05:18 AM PST

I mean, I don't want to go to the steam market and click one by one.
