- deploying a blue hero into a losing lane
- Hope Artifact can implement 2 Ranking Boards just like Dota Auto Chess - one for friends and one for global rankings (increases rivalry / acts like a social feature)
- As someone that has been playing Dota for years, i can tell you that it is pointless to complain about Valves lack of communication. They already showed years ago that they will never change no matter how hard the community complains.

- I miss the comics
- TIL You can now play using unowned deck against an AI.
- Not an update for the game but (yet another) Match History Viewer - Online, Open Source, Statistics, Filters & no storing of data!
- The release of Artifact made 2 games lose players, Artifact itself and Gwent.
- Something I dont understand
- It's Just sad. Great game tho

Daily Card Discussion - Aghanim's Sanctum Posted: 25 Jan 2019 06:54 AM PST Color: Blue Type: Improvement Mana: 4 Rarity: Uncommon Illustrator: Lake Hurwitz Summary: [A, CD=1] Fully restore your tower's Mana. Lore: Aghanim is the greatest wizard of all time. There is no question. There is no debate. No one is his equal. So when he vanished one day, we never wondered 'how' we wondered 'why'. Some say he feared for his life and ran into hiding, but I don't believe that for a second. You ask me, Aghanim is working on something. Something important. Something that will change the world. — Vanessa, on Aghanim's disappearance

Posted: 25 Jan 2019 08:54 AM PST Valve refuses to change, no matter how hard they disappoint their players with it. Even though they likely have the financial resources to hire 500+ new employees without a problem, they don't even want to hire a single Community Manager that could cover up all their games for reasons that are not comprehensible. 36 Days of Zero Communication -State of the Game Posted: 25 Jan 2019 03:01 AM PST Artifact is a wonderful game. I have encountered almost zero in-game problems from the very start, enjoy the mechanics, the theory-crafting, and the cards. As of Jan. 16th, 2019 per Forbes.. "..Players fled from the game quickly, and early reports said that Artifact had lost 60% of its initial players in the first week. Today, the game has dropped from its all-time peak of 60,000+ players to an all-time low of just 1,469 players, and it's continuing to hit new lows every day..." This is an unmitigated disaster, there isn't any argument about that at this point. Whomever was put in charge of this continues to do more damage every single day the team stays silent. Anyone familiar with Valve knows this is par for the course, but they needed to be aware that a different strategy was needed to make this game succeed. This game was HIGHLY anticipated, and the beta was handled as poorly as possible. A date was given, that date passed (Oct.2018) and then it was all together scrapped. Those who were given beta access, who were throwing shade at ANYONE who was critical of significant things missing from the game, where are those individuals now?! Who was in charge of this mess and let this become an exclusive streamer circle-jerk? Why did they believe that would court Dota players, you know, the characters/lore this game is based on? It didn't work. And silence, as evidenced by the current numbers, it is still not working. Hello!?? Valve!?! Wake Up Please?!? Where is BTS? Where are ALL the people connected to them who made sure to enrich THEMSELVES very early on? Yes, there were exclusive prize tournaments, you can go watch them. Where are those tournaments now for us 'common folk'? Where are all those "Big-Name" Hearthstone, Gwent, Magic, and other game "testers"(Streamers/Family/Friends)? They got their FULL value out of having early access to the steam marketplace to sell their Axe cards. I guess none of them really did care at all about this game and its sustainability. All of these mistakes are all just pieces of a larger problem. That begins and ends with communication, especially if you are trying to create a TCG out of thin air. Artifact doesn't have 30 years of history like Magic, it doesn't have the casual & bubblegum appeal of Hearthstone or the marketing/community communication. If only.. if ONLY it had a AAA game behind it, with a built-in die hard playerbase. Oh yeah, that's right! Dota 2! So, why would they not court the Dota community? WHY?? I know some of the biggest streamers in Dota didn't even have access to beta. Streamers who have been playing and supporting this game for 5+ years, completely ignored by whoever is running this Artifact disaster. Why? Oh I know, they were busy sitting on the BTS couch running a party for themselves, when they were ignoring Dota streamers and players. Well, look how that all worked out. Those are BIG reasons why players were completely turned off by this experience. Artifact is a great game, but that's not enough when you spit on your community. How is it possible that Valve is this out of touch with their community/consumer? I'm not sure, but this is a complete disaster at this point, potentially one of the most poorly run releases of all-time. Swallow your pride, stop being so blatantly arrogant, find the people who care, find the people who do not, and start building trust in confidence in your game again Valve. Happy New Year :) [link] [comments]
The best deck no one is playing: Green Black Ramp Posted: 25 Jan 2019 09:56 AM PST Hey all, Just posting to get some honest content on this sub for those interested in actually playing the game. I've been working on a deck that I think is incredibly good. Multiple perfect runs thus far--I even had a perfect game where I finished with all towers at full health. The deck is Green Black Ramp. Here's the decklist and here's a video of me piloting it in one of the Mainline qualifier tournaments. The deck absolutely crushes mono blue, and I've found it to have good matchups against most of the field. Aggressive BR decks give it the most trouble, but still aren't that problematic. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think. If you're interested in seeing any Artifact content in particular, just let me know and I'll try to make some! Lastly, feel free to check me out on Twitch as well. (If it helps sell you on any of this, I'm level 71 on both draft and constructed.) Zoochz [link] [comments]

TIL You can now play using unowned deck against an AI. Posted: 25 Jan 2019 05:03 PM PST Probably undocumented changes. But holyshet this is huge. I know cards are cheaper now, but for someone who don't have much to spend before trying any decks, this is a godsend. Been asking for this long time ago. Thanks Valve for listening. Edit: Cant now. Probably just a bug. Please Volvo I need this. [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Jan 2019 02:09 AM PST A major part of card game streamers were playing artifact for MONTHS while in Beta, enjoyed and praised the shit out of it. They put in a lot of time into the game although they werent allowed to stream it, hence they didnt benefit from playing it. Now shortly after release they abandoned ship. The only thing that really changed is public perception. I cant get my head around this. [link] [comments]

Statistical Draft Hero Tier List Posted: 25 Jan 2019 11:51 AM PST Red Mist.gg recently released an add on with which you can analyze your games and upload the data to their website. You can find the reddit post here. The data is available on their website . Since this is the first time we have a big sample size to analyze from I started and looked at the win rates of heroes in Prize Draft in Balance patch 1.2. Using this data I made a Tier List of all the heroes for draft. You can find it in this google table. The numbers after the name reflect the confidence interval meaning how the actual result would differ (in + or -) if we had the data from all games available. This was calculated assuming a mean and standard deviation of 0.5. Since I don't have access to the raw data I can't give a more accurate number but the confidence intervals are most likely bigger than shown here. That being said here are some interesting results this data set reveals: - Omniknight seems to be under performing. - Magnus, Dark Seer, Abaddon, Viper and Rix all have Lower Win Rates than Farvhan so there are few reasons to pick these heroes especially if the pack has other good cards to offer. - Farvhan the Dreamer has the highest win rate out of the base heroes. - Tinker has the highest win rate in the game by some margin. So next time you see a Tinker and a Lich in a pack pick the Tinker ;) - There is no reason to pick Lion, Necrophos or Storm Spirit as their win rates are much lower than Debbies. - You shouldn't pick Bounty Hunter, Winter Wyvern or Bloodseeker over other good cards in a pack as they have roughly the same win rate as Debbie - Beastmaster seems to be massively over performing having the highest win rate in red. While over time his win rate will probably fall under that of Legion Commander and Axe it still nevertheless shows that he is a top pick for a red hero. - Ursa, Timbersaw, Sven, Pugna, Tidehunter and Centaur Warrunner have similar win rates to Keefe so it might be a good idea to prioritize main deck cards over these heroes. - Blue generally seems to perform worse than the other colors - Jmuy is the worst of the base heroes - You should never pick Outworld Devourer or Crystal Maiden - It is still statistically possible for Meepo to be the best blue hero ( ͡° ͜Ê– ͡°) As time goes on this data set will become bigger and the results more accurate. Right now mostly people with high win rates uploaded their data which you can see in the fact that most heroes have a higher win rate than 50%. If you want to improve this data set you can use the add on and add your own games to it as well. ~Kaito [link] [comments]

Sorry but the OGA Pit casters are terrible Posted: 25 Jan 2019 05:36 PM PST Look, I'm really sorry if any of you guys read this, but, really, the casting is abysmal. It's soporific at best, and clearly lacks depth and analysis. The main dude - sorry, don't remember names - has no idea who the players are, and is generally less knowledgeable about competitive CCG than your average redditor. I had to mute it when in the first game I heard that Lifecoach was in a great position to win when he was most of the time going to lose in the next round. The WePlay tournament didn't have great analysis either (except Panda imho), but it was entertaining. It was about making Artifact fun - not an easy task - and it did great in that area. At least for me. Casting is hard, casting artifact is probably even harder. But I'm sure a lot of people could do better. Or these casters need to improve. But it needs to get better if we want the game to at least have a nice competitive scene and viewership. What's your opinion ? [link] [comments]

Now we do not even have a bug-fix patch Posted: 25 Jan 2019 07:30 PM PST What the hell. The harder we push Valve to communicate, the harder it is for Valve to communicate. Ok, jokes aside. I think Valve knows we are very dissatisfied, so they decided to give a big update next time instead of give a big-fix update. [link] [comments]

Where can I find some constructed content? Posted: 25 Jan 2019 04:57 PM PST Going to commit to a constructed deck tomorrow, most likely black as I've read they're cheap and aggressive which is always a good way to start. Not too bothered about having a tier 1 deck. The only constructed player I've watched is Swim so I know what mono blue is all about but I'm not sure where to look for educational content relevant to the meta so I thought I'd ask the constructed players here. Also, I know there are various tier lists. Which are favourites/most trusted? [link] [comments]
Bringing new players in would help retain existing players Posted: 25 Jan 2019 04:25 AM PST I see a lot of "the problem of this game right now is not bringing new players in, it's retaining its current playerbase", and I don't think that's entirely true. In the end, we people behave like sheep: we are VERY influenced by numbers. I see a lot of people here on reddit dropping the game saying it's a good game but it's dead. That's because to some extent they care more about how many people are playing it than how much fun they're having with it. My point is that if in some way a lot of new people got to play the game (e.g. making it f2p, amongst other strategies to bring new players), they would make it much more appealing for existing players (numbers go up, more n00bz to pwn, brighter future for the competitive scene, etc) and some of the people who left would give the game another chance. It's all about numbers. P.S.: this subreddit is already flooded by posts on how to revive artifact, sorry about making another one, but I think this point had to be made. [link] [comments] |
