At some points there were more viewers at Twitch that people playing the game, that's any esport event's dream.

    Congrats Weplay.

What I learned from WePlay! Mighty Triad Agility: We need more Open Qualifiers

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 11:06 AM PST

I feel very disappointed in watching "professional players" play in this tournament. They made A LOT of misplays. Unprofessional ones. On top of that, here's what I think:

    - Those who got qualified for sure they try very hard, practice so much and they overcome hundreds of players in order to have a spot to compete there. All three of those players now qualified to the next round with the score of 2-0.

    - Those who called "professional players", some of them didn't practice much (except those streaming like swim, Hyped...), some of them dropped the game already and just barely practicing for this tournament because they got invited (you can see their Artifact level is pretty low, like 6 - 8). They usually can only play 1 Deck, made a lot of misplays, some cost them a game, some didn't but it's very painful to watch.

So I hope there're more slots for open qualifiers in the future: more chance for amateur players and more quality matches.

PSA: Valve listens but doesn't talk. I 100% guarantee you there is a Valve employee reading this subreddit every day.

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 12:00 PM PST

    Your complaints are being heard.

Theres no point demanding Valve to answer to the community, they usually do it through patches.

Some of you are going on like you've never played a Valve game before. They do this for basically every game they still update.

But my suggestion is that you focus on the problems with the game, and not the problems with Valves communication - because they wont communicate through anything other than patch notes etc. unless there is a huge outrage.

Much love to Weplay, Slacks and casting team

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 05:18 PM PST

Weplay has insane production quality, very impressive :)

Also for Artifact to become a popular spectator esport, Slacks is exactly who we need to cast the tourneys. Great job by Weplay in adding him to the casting team.

When ESPN started broadcasting poker (before it became insanely popular), some poker fans complained about Norman Chad - very similar to some people's complaints on this sub about Slacks. But he makes watching much more fun for casual viewers, and that's exactly what's needed.

Credit where it's due- having a tournament system built-in is a big deal

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 11:09 AM PST

I've wanted an in-game tournament option in almost every CCG I've played, but the developers just didn't seem to believe it was important, or couldn't figure it out I guess. I remember thinking Hearthstone might get tournaments one day...

It can still be improved upon, and I'd like to see more formal or regular tournament options, but credit to Valve for including it from the beginning.

Valve silence on the game is a joke.

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 09:47 AM PST

Valve you have 5% or your day 1 fans still playing. Throw them a bone let them know whats going on to improve the game.

Maybe give a roadmap on how to get the other 95% back or try and save the remaining 5% from jumping ship

This new Rix meme/deck from WEplay is shockingly effective.

Rix and Timbersaw just won in a tourney match

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 12:10 PM PST

That was so satisfying to watch. If you ever played Dota - Nyx Pick on TI2 and Meepos in the era when Meepo wasn't broken were just as cool to watch.

I hope 1 mil. tourney is still happening because it would be even greater to see new strats and tricks when there are even bigger money and titles at stake

    Constructed Games Are Getting Harder

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 06:16 PM PST

My win rate in constructed has dropped a lot recently. When I lose, I load the winner's deck and usually find that I don't have the cards to copy their deck. The last two games I lost, the cost to buy their deck was over 15 bucks.

I don't mind losing, because every time I lose I learn a little more about the game. But I wonder. Am I losing more because I am reaching my true rating, or am I losing because only the tryhards are still playing?
